Mentally unstable man who confessed to killing daughter of ex-Ondo deputy governor, attacks medical director, nurses in psychiatric home
Workers at the Ondo State Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital Akure, yesterday staged peaceful protest demanding better working conditions in their facility after a patient undergoing treatment beat up the facility's medical director and nurses.
According to the protesting workers, a patient named Folorunsho Olawale who was brought in by men of the Ondo State Police Command on Wednesday August 8th, stabbed two nurses, beat up the medical director, Dr. Akinwumi Akinloye and destroyed some equipment of the hospital.
Olawale was arrested after he went to a police station in Akure and allegedly confessed to having been involved in the killing of Khadijat, the daughter of a former deputy governor of the state, Alhaji Lasisi Oluboyo.
“After he was quizzed at the station, the police suspected that Olawale had a mental problem because his statement was incoherent and he was behaving abnormally. He was subsequently taken to the psychiatric hospital'' one of the workers said
The protesting workers said after the incident, they filed a complain with the office of the Permanent Secretary of the Hospital Management Board, Dr Niran Ikuomola, who asked them to go back to work immediately. This did not go down well with the workers and they resorted to embarking on a peaceful protest to demand better working condition and security to forestall similar attacks.
Although the permanent secretary has promised to implement the changes they demand for, the workers said they want actions and not promises.
“I want to believe that we are not in an animal kingdom. We heard of the attack on some nurses and doctors of this hospital and we came to pacify the workers to go back to work this morning. But it is unfortunate that the PS just came here and ordered the workers to go back to their work without addressing the issues at hand. He said we had no right to address our members. But we want to say enough is enough because nothing seems to be working here and this is not acceptable to us''leader of the protesting workers, Opeyemi Oloniyo, said
The Public Relations Officer of the state police command, Femi Joseph, confirmed that the psychiatric patient was a suspect and was taken to the hospital by the command.
“When he started behaving abnormally, he was taken to the psychiatric hospital to test his level of sanity because we did not know whether he was on drug or he had a mental disorder; that was why we took him to the hospital.” Joseph said
The City Girls reveal how to spot a broke man and men are upset
The City Girls (the famous New Orleans group on Drake's In My Feelings song) just gave an interview where they explained how to know a broke man when you see him.
A man can dress rich and try to look rich but these women have revealed 10 signs that you should look out for that will tell you whether a man is broke.
Below is the list they gave during the interview:
1. The man has dirty fingernails 2. The man loudly talks about h*es. (like he says 'where the hoes at-')-if you got money the hoes come to you 3. The man wears fake underwear. He has to have name brand drawers - polo, calvin Klein 4. The man drives an old car (2012 or earlier, looking like a pizza hut car) 5. If he tells you his car in the shop 6. If he always wearing an undershirt lol (like why dont you got a shirt) 7. If he's in the club with a little cup in his hand 8. If he never has his hair cut/he wearing slides and socks 9. If you meet him Saturday and he asks you for money on Tuesday 10. if his babys momma look busted
Apparently, the interview has some men on social media in their feelings and they've said some of the points listed by the women prove nothing.

OS — Senator Jonah Jang has opted out of a second term and has declared his Plateau North Senatorial Seat open for a successor.
The immediate political future of the one term senator remains, however, unclear. Senator Jang had lately mooted the idea of running for the 2019 presidential contest on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP but that aspiration has yet to get traction and it remains uncertain if he would pursue the ambition.
At a meeting with PDP stakeholders from the Plateau North Senatorial zone held at WAYE Foundation, Doi, Jos South local government area, Jang disclosed that the Senate seat would be vacant in 2019 and left for people of Plateau North to decide who should represent them in the Red chamber.
Though nocturnal meetings are being held by aspirants for the seat but only the member representing Barkin Ladi/Riyom Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Istifanus Gyang has officially made his intention known to the PDP and his supporters.
Vanguard gathered that others nursing ambition for the seat from the All Progressives Congress, APC include the member representing Jos South/Jos East federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Edward Pwajok, the current Secretary to the Plateau State Government, Rufus Bature, former Chief of Staff during Jang’s administration, Francis Bot and former Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly Hon. Isa Song.
The PDP, Northern Zone Leader, Mr. Chris Hassan, said: “The Senator called the meeting to meet with all of us from the zone. He made known his intention not to re-contest the Senatorial seat and asked us as a Party to work together and ensure unity.
“We are giving a level playing ground to all the aspirants; there will be nothing like the issue of zoning. Zoning is not going to be discussed; we are leaving everything open for all interested people to contest.
What the Senator asked was that we should quickly convene a meeting of all PDP stakeholders in the northern zone and deliberate on the seat but as a Party, we are leaving the seat open to whosoever is qualified to go and contest.
“He did not categorically declare his intention to contest the presidential seat but in a fortnight from now, he will do the formal declaration for the Presidential seat.”

NBA Youngboy, 18, proudly reveals he's expecting his 5th child from his 4th babymama
Only days ago, 18-year-old rapper NBA Youngboy revealed he has converted to Islam and showed off his girl completely covered in a Burka (read here). Now, he's revealed he's expecting a baby, his 5th.
NBA already has 4 children, all within the same age bracket, from 4 different women (read here). Now, he's revealed he's expecting a 5th baby, not from his burka-wearing girlfriend, but from one of his baby mamas named Janis.
NBA's Kids
The rapper, who is constantly in trouble with the law, had his last run-in with the law when police claim he abused his baby's mother Janis. There was a restraining order and police told NBA that if he went near her, he could be arrested. But, obviously he went near her, or she went near him, because she's about to have a baby by him.
In a new video on Instagram, the rapper is seen saying that he never physically laid his hands on Janis and once the restraining order is lifted, he will leave all his current girlfriends and go back to her and their baby.
I didn’t need WAEC result for admission into US varsity —Adeleke
The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has said he gained admission into the university he attended in the United States without presenting his West African School Certificate Examination result.
Adeleke said this in Ede on Thursday while reacting to the dismissal of the suit filed against his eligibility before Justice David Oladimeji of the Osun State High Court.
Adeleke, who was flanked by some of his mates at the Ede Muslim Grammar School, Ede said he was well known during his school days because he loved his schoolmates and loved sports.
The PDP candidate said he sat for a qualifying examination before he was given admission to the university.
He said, “We all went to school and we know that some results would not be released. But they may release the remaining results tomorrow. Who knows? After I sat for the exams, my mind was in the US. The university I attended did not need our qualification from here. I say for their qualifying exam.”
He said he had been calling aspirants that contested with him for the PDP’s sole ticket and that he had held a meeting with Dr Akin Ogunbiyi in the presence of the National Chairman of the party, Prince Uche Secondus, and the national organising secretary of the party.
Adeleke said, “I chose to remain quiet since the conclusion of the governorship primary for two reasons; first it is my unchanged belief in party supremacy and utmost respect for the leadership of our great party.
“The second reason is because the issue of my qualification and eligibility as a governorship candidate has been a subject of litigation until yesterday. Now that a judicial pronouncement confirming my qualification and eligibility to contest has been made, the time is now right to speak on the matter.
“For the records, let me reiterate the obvious and easily verifiable fact that I attended the Ede Muslim Grammar School between 1979 and 1981, my schoolmates are everywhere, and some are even here with me. While in school, I was a lover of football, so I was very popular. I was elected the president of the alumni association of this same school until recently.”
He described those questioning his attendance at the school as “clearly being mischievous and deceptive.”
Adeleke added, “I also must express my gratitude to the judiciary for upholding the truth despite the pressure. It is now clear and proven that I did not forge any certificate or testimonial. In any case, how can I forge a testimonial that simply attests to the fact of my attendance at the school?”
Adeleke assured the people of the state of his determination to provide quality leadership and to rescue them from the ‘mess’ created by the present administration in the state.
