Man Caught Defiling A 13-Year-Old Girl In Jos market - Crime -

A 37-year old man, Mr. Yusuf Bakare, escaped mob action in Lagos after he was caught while having sex with a 13-year old girl inside the market.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on the 2nd floor inside Orile Market, Lagos where he took the victim and defiled her.

The motive behind his action was not clear as the traders wondered why he would engage in such act with the victim inside the market place.
He was alleged to have lured the teenager to the place, engaged her in the romp before the market security men suspected the movement, went there and caught them in the act. The action generated uproar in the market and some of the traders who were present when the incident happened attempted to attack them but were prevented from doing so by the market leadership.

The suspect was handed over to the police who transferred the matter to the Gender Section of the State Command, Ikeja, Lagos.
During the interrogation, the teenager revealed that the suspect lured her to the place and forcefully penetrated her after warning her not to raise alarm.

The police found Bakare culpable and charged him before the Ogba Magistrates court for rape.
The prosecutor, Mr. Christopher John, informed the court that the offence was actually committed inside the market in the evening when some traders were still in the market.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. Peter Nwaka, denied him bail and did not take his plea.
The court ordered him to be remanded in the prison custody and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to DPP for advice.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the matter might be transferred to High Court because it was a case of defilement of a teenager which attracts heavy penalty.
It was learnt that if the DPP finds Bakare culpable and he is tried at the High Court and found guilty, he will spend up to 10 years in prison for the alleged offence.

American model, Hailey Baldwin has shutdown reports that she and Justin Bieber are officially married.

She wrote on Twitter: I understand where the speculation is coming from, but I’m not married yet!

This comes just after People reported that the model and her fiance Justin Bieber married in a New York courthouse on Thursday, citing unnamed sources.

An unnamed source reportedly told People that the couple had legally married in a courthouse on Thursday, after obtaining their marriage license earlier that day. The young lovebirds got engaged two months ago in the Bahamas. A "religious source" allegedly told People that while the couple was legally married at a courthouse Thursday, they were planning a "big blowout, in front of God and everyone they love."

The People's report came after Justin and Hailey showed up at the courthouse in NYC Thursday. They were taken to the executive offices for VIP treatment and Justin was seen crying and telling Hailey, "I can't wait to marry you, baby."

But in a previous report by TMZ, it was claimed that the Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin ?are getting married as early as next week and it's most likely out of the country in a super small ceremony.

Nigerian Scammer, Bayo Awonorin Extradited To UK Over £12M Money Laundry - Crime -

A Nigerian man who featured in the National Crime Agency’s top 10 most wanted alleged fraudsters campaign appeared in court today accused of a £12 million scam involving public bodies.

Bayo Awonorin, 44, was originally arrested in 2012 as part of an investigation into alleged money laundering involving public bodies, including Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, but he later fled the country while on bail, Lincolnshire Police said.


He was arrested in Maryland, US, and was successfully extradited after being charged with conspiracy to defraud and conspiracy to launder money.
The Lincolnshire force said he has been a wanted man since 2013 in connection with the investigation called Operation Tarlac.
He was traced by Lincolnshire officers from the Economic Crime Unit to the US and through close collaboration with both the UK and US authorities, the force added.


Awonorin appeared in the dock at Lincoln Magistrates Court today.
Wearing a white t-shirt, Awonorin spoke to confirm his name and to give his date of birth.
He also confirmed his nationality as Nigerian and told the court he was of no fixed address.
The court clerk confirmed that Awonorin faces two charges of conspiring with others to defraud public institutions and to convert criminal property.

Both offences are alleged to have occurred between January 1, 2011 and July 31, 2012.
There was no bail application or indication of plea from Awonorin.
He was remanded into custody and will next appear at Lincoln Crown Court on October 15.
Awonorin, previously from Bexley, London, had been the subject of a BBC Crimewatch appeal and the National Crime Agency’s 10 most wanted alleged fraudster’s campaign in 2016.

Police offer N1m reward for information on killers of first Nigerian indigenous paint manufacturer's son

.The Imo State Police Command on Thursday, placed a N1 million reward to any individual that provides information that will lead to the arrest of killers of Theophilus Timothy Chinaka Mbakwe.

Late Mbakwe aka Chiboy, from Amaigbo Nwangele Local Government Area of Imo State, was brutally murdered by unknown assailants, on 25th of August, 2018. A female companion, believed to be his girlfriend, was abducted by the gunmen.
