Trevor Noah: Why He Thinks DonaldTrump Is The ‘UndisputedComedy Champion’
The Daily Show’ host Trevor Noah was in LA for the 2018 Emmys, and he told us EXCLUSIVELY why he think President Donald Trump is the current king of comedy.
Donald Trump‘s presidency has been pure gold for late night comedy show writers. The 72-year-old’s daily foibles have made for monologues that can pretty much write themselves. With Washington D.C. in total chaos, we caught up to The Daily Show hos tTrevor Noah at the Variety Pre-Emmy party on Sept. 15 and asked him who he thinks is funnier, Democrats or Republicans. “It depends on what we’re judging the funny on. I think Donald Trump is the undisputed comedy champion, he doesn’t try, and I think that’s what makes him a champ, is that he’s effortless,” he EXCLUSIVELY revealed.
Each side is funny in a different way. Democrats are funny in that they trip over themselves so much, in times when you feel like it’s an obvious win. Then Republicans are funny because they seem to have abandoned every single principle that they based themselves on, so it’s been really interesting, watching people contort themselves in the era that we’re experiencing right now. In terms of who’s funnier, I think the crown moves back and forth every day, but the champion is undisputed, and he’s in the White House,” Trevor added.
The Daily Show was up for Best Variety/Talk Series at the 2018 Emmys and the 34-year-old host was on hand in the audience to represent onstage if the show’s name was called. It was a super tough field, competing with TBS’ Full Frontal With Samantha Bee, CBS’ The Late Late Show With James Cordenand The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live, and HBO’s Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. John’s show came out on top, taking home his third Emmy in a row.
In 2015, the Television Academy created the category, splitting it from Outstanding Variety Series to include one award for talk and variety, while another was designated for sketch comedies like Saturday Night Live. The Daily Show in Jon Stewart’s last year at the helm took home the award, but former TDS correspondent John Oliver’s HBO show has won ever since. When his name was announced, the camera panned to the audience to show Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert, who were sitting near each other with “him again?” looks of disappointment on their faces as they politely clapped. It’s gotta suck doing a new show five nights a week and losing to a guy who only does one on Sunday nights.

Chelsea midfielder N'Golo Kante spent his Saturday evening with a group of fans following an unexpected meet at a London mosque.
After helping Chelsea Defeat Cardiff 4-1, Kante was due spend the rest of his weekend in Paris but missed his Eurostar and Googled local mosques in order to undertake his evening prayer.
Having found one, Kante turned up and, as nice guys always do, quickly made a host of new friends.
Not believing their luck at meeting a Premier League and World Cup winner, they took the chance to invite him round for a chilled night at their house.
According to Twitter user @abz_gooner, the night went like this: 'It all started with Kante missing his Eurostar to Paris, then Googling local mosque, next thing you know man's chomping on rice and curry in next man's yard, playing FIFA and watching himself on MOTD.'
Another user, @jahrul999, wrote: 'World Cup winner, former Premier League Player of the Year, two-time Premiership [sic] winner casually joined us to watch MOTD after visiting a local mosque. True definition of being humble. What a man.
Kante is now becoming one of the best footballers on the planet, he has already won two Premier League titles and won key as France won the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

. Pope Francis has expelled the Chilean priest Cristian Precht BaƱados who is under investigation for child sex abuse.
The Archdiocese of Santiago said the Pope had decided to defrock the Reverend, Cristian Precht, local daily El Mercurio reported.
Precht was a former head of the Church’s Vicariate of Solidarity human rights group that in the 1980s had challenged ex-dictator Augusto Pinochet to end the practice of torture in Chile. The well-known Chilean religious leader has since been accused of sexual abuse as part of the investigation into allegations against members of the Marist Brothers religious community. Precht has previously denied the charges.
Precht's defrocking is the first formal resignation the Pope has decreed since every bishop in Chile offered to step down in May over the country's sex abuse scandal. The move is thought to be unprecedented in the modern history of the Catholic Church.
Pope Francis announcement comes as Chilean police raid church offices throughout the Andean nation looking for new cases of sexual abuse or evidence that church officials concealed abuse from authorities.
The Lagos state police command have arrested two self-confessed members of a notorious cult group, Olakunle Ogunyemi, popularly known as Pedro, and Anthony Bello, popularly called T-boy, for the murder of an Austrian returnee, in Iba Housing Estate, Lagos State.
The deceased, Micheal Chinenu, who visited Nigeria to have his traditional marriage, was allegedly stabbed to death during a fight with the suspects at a football pitch in Iba in 2016.
According to reports, the deceased had gone to the football pitch to play football with a group of boys in his neighborhood. During the match, an argument ensued between the deceased and Ogunyemi which degenerated into a fight.
When it became clear that the deceased was overpowering the latter, Bello allegedly used a knife to stab the Austrian returnee in the chest, in his bid to assist his colleague. The duo immediately fled the scene, abandoning their opponent to his fate. Chinenu died a week later from complications that arose from severe loss of blood.
After two years of investigation, the suspects were recently arrested by operatives of the Federal Anti Robbery Squad (FSARS), Lagos State Police Command, in their hideout. Bello, a.k.a. T-boy, admitted to have stabbed the deceased in self- defense.
While confessing to the crime, he said
“I went to play ball at the football pitch when I heard an uproar. On reaching the scene, I saw a man engaged in a scuffle with Pedro (Ogunyemi ). In my attempt to intervene, the man slapped me. He left Pedro and faced me. He hit me on the ground twice and used a tyre rim to hit me. In defense, I rushed to an orange seller where I collected a knife and stabbed him in the shoulder. I managed to escape from the scene and went into hiding when I heard he was dead. In my hideout, I turned new leaf and got married. I thought the case must have died down since it’s been long it happened. I was at home with my wife and child when the police came with Pedro to arrest me.”
Ogunyemi, who is the only son of his widowed mother and an OND holder from the Lagos State Polytechnic, disclosed that he joined cultism at the age of 17.
“He (the deceased) came and said I should ‘free’ Lexi, so that they could leave the field. I pretended not to have heard him and continued the discussion with Lexi. He repeated it again and I asked who he was and where he was from. This degenerated into quarrel before Bello came. I did not know how the deceased died but all I could remember was seeing him on the ground because other boys on the field took me to a corner to pacify me and prevented me from going to where the fight was going on. I later left Lagos for Ghana to hide, for fear of being arrested over the death of the man. I stayed there for sometime before I returned to Nigeria, only to be arrested.” he said
The Police say the suspects would be charged to court later today for armed robbery, cultism and murder.
