Confirmed: Man Utd name their caretaker manager after sacking Jose Mourinho

Man Utd have officially confirmed that they’ve appointed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as their caretaker boss until the end of the season after sacking Jose Mourinho.

As noted in their official statement, the Red Devils opted to sack Mourinho on Tuesday after a bitterly disappointing first half of the season.

The Portuguese tactician leaves the club in sixth place in the Premier League table, 11 points adrift of the top four while they sit 19 points behind league leaders Liverpool.

With that in mind, results were simply unacceptable, and with a Champions League tie with Paris Saint-Germain ahead in February, the hierarchy evidently felt as though it was the right time for a change now following Sunday’s defeat to Liverpool.

U.S Flays FG, Decries the Death of About 20,000 Nigerians from Herdsmen Attacks Since June of 2015

The United States of America has shown its disgust concerning the FG’s management of the herdsmen killings, leading to the ultimate death of about 19,890 people since June 2015. The US Council on Foreign Relations has come out with this exclusive report, to bring to light the menace of the herdsmen killings affecting mainly the Christian dominated Middle Belt and Southern part of the country.

These killings have become incessant and as such, has constituted a source of International worry to all and sundry, considering the strategic importance of Nigeria to the world. Recall that on the visit of President Buhari to the US in April 2018, the US President; Donald Trump warned about the "persecution of Christians in Nigeria," reiterating that "we are going to work on that problem very very hard." This is corroborated by the report of Christian Solidarity Worldwide (CSW), claiming that 1,061 have been killed by killer herdsmen in the first quarter of 2018, in the Middle Belt alone.

Atiku Lacks What It Takes To Champion Anti-Corruption Drive – Ambode - Politics -

Akinwunmi Ambode, Lagos State governor, at the weekend took a swipe at former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), saying he is not in a good position to champion the anti-corruption drive.

Atiku had vowed to fight corruption like never before if given the chance to preside over Nigeria’s affairs, saying he was well equipped to fight corruption because of his vast experience both in the public and private sectors and his ability to build a team capable of accomplishing the task.

“I will shock everyone because I believe that I will fight corruption like never before,” he had said.

However, speaking with journalists during the peace meeting held with aggrieved aspirants of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Marina, Ambode said there was no way any responsible leader would decide to wage a frontal battle against corruption without it fighting back.

Describing the 16 years reign of the PDP as ’16 years of corruption’, Ambode said the opposition is desperate to unseat President Buhari in 2019 so as to return Nigeria to the old ways when corruption was endemic.
