Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria, Tanko Muhammad dragged to court over alleged age falsification

Tochi Michael, a 46-year-old businessman has dragged Justice Tanko Muhammad, the acting Chief Justice of Nigeria, before a Federal Capital Territory High Court over alleged age falsification.

According to reports, in the originating summons with suit No. FCT/HC/BW/CV/79/2019, filed before the court in April, the petitioner alleged that the CJN deliberately falsified his date of birth.

Michael alleged that the acting CJN falsified his date of birth from December 31, 1950 as contained in all his official records, including that of WAEC, to December 31, 1953 upon his appointment as a judicial officer.

Manchester United coach, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is offering Paul Pogba the captaincy in a bid to convince the midfielder to stay at Old Trafford and shun Real Madrid move.

The French midfielder, 26, has been repeatedly linked with a move away from Man United this summer, with Real Madrid a likely destination.

United will be without a captain from the end of next month when Antonio Valencia leaves the club. His deputy, 33-year-old Ashley Young is likely to play a reduced role next term with United targeting a new right-back this summer.

According to ESPN, Solskjaer is willing to offer the 26-year-old the armband in a bid to keep him at the club ahead of a squad overhaul this summer.

Rihanna has released a campaign video for her luxury fashion brand Fenty and the advert featured CMS, Lagos.

The clip shows a wide range of women posing against the backdrop of various sites across the world. One of the sites shown is the ever-busy CMS bus stop in Lagos.

Baby cut from his murdered mother's womb opens his eyes for the first time

The newborn baby boy who was cut from his mother's womb after she was killed by a woman who wanted the child (read here), has opened his eyes for the first time.

Marlen Ochoa-Lopez, 19, was killed after she shared a Facebook post revealing she needed baby things and a woman - her suspected killer - responded, offering to help her out.

She was declared missing after she went to collect the items for her unborn baby but never returned. Later, Clarisa Figueroa, 46, who offered to give her free baby clothes, claimed that she had just given birth on the same day that Marlen went missing. Paramedics went to the home where the woman claimed she had given birth and they found the baby boy. However, DNA tests showed that the baby belonged to Marlen, not to Clarisa. Marlen's body was also recovered in a dustbin in the backyard.

President Buhari gives truck operators, drivers 72 hours to vacate Apapa roads

President Buhari has ordered the immediate removal of all trucks causing gridlock on the Apapa roads in Lagos.

A statement released on the presidency's official twitter handle @AsoRock, says all truck operators and drivers are to vacate all roads leading to the port within 72 hours.

Efforts of different governments to contain the traffic grilock in the area have not yielded the desired result.

Borussia Dortmund announces £30m signing of Thorgan Hazard on five-year deal from Borussia Monchengladbach

German club, Borussia Dortmund have announced the signing of Eden Hazard's younger brother Thorgan Hazard on a five-year deal.

The attacking midfielder has joined for a fee believed to be in the region of £30million from Bundesliga rivals Borussia Monchengladbach.  

'I'm grateful for the five wonderful years I've spent at Borussia Monchengladbach and the good memories I take with me,' Hazard said on Wednesday.  

"Now was exactly the right time to take the next step in my career. I'm proud that I'll be able to play for Borussia Dortmund. It's a top club with amazing fans.'

The 26-year-old has won 21 caps and scored three goals for his country. This season he netted 13 goals and picked up 12 assists in 35 games for Monchengladbach.

'He's an experienced Bundesliga and Belgium national player who'll help us with his pace and shooting ability. He has consistently proven his class in recent years', said Dortmund's sporting director Michael Zorc.
