Man graduates with nursing degree from University where he once worked as a janitor

A man did not let his humble circumstances stop him from dreaming for a better life or working towards it and today, his efforts have paid off.

Frank Baez moved to the US from the Dominican Republic with his mother when he was 15. To help his family financially, he became a janitor at New York University’s Langone Tisch Hospital.

While working as a janitor, he was inspired by the nurses and how they cared for patients so he decided to become a nurse.

On Monday, Frank, now 29, graduated from the same university where he once worked as a cleaner. He plans to be a critical care nurse in an intensive care unit.

Speaking with Good Morning America, Baez said: "I could barely speak English at the time when I started working at NYU. Now I reflect on it and I feel very proud of how much I accomplished."

Baez shared that he eventually left his job as a janitor to complete his bachelor’s degree at Hunter College then returned to NYU and completed the accelerated program at the Rory Meyers College of Nursing in 15 months. Baez is the first person in his family to graduate from college.

R. Kelly is looking to hire defense attorney who got Michael Jackson acquitted

R.Kelly is reportedly hoping to persuade one of the top criminal defense lawyers in the country to join his legal team.

Attorney Thomas Mesereau successfully got Michael Jackson acquitted when he was indicted with several crimes, including 4 counts of molesting a minor, 4 counts of intoxicating a minor to molest him, 1 count of attempted child molestation, 1 count of conspiring to hold the boy and his family captive, and conspiring to commit extortion and child abduction,

Now, Kelly is hoping Mesereau can do for him as he did for Michal Jackson so many years ago.

According to The Blast, R.Kelly made it clear he wants Mesereau to join his team as he faces multiple sexual assault charges.

Though Mesereau is busy, he reportedly connected with Kelly on a FaceTime call within the last month.

Cristiano Ronaldo 'to be served summons to face rape allegations

Cristiano Ronaldo

Juventus striker, Cristiano Ronaldo is set to be summoned to face rape allegations after lawyers for his accuser, Kathryn Mayorga, tracked down his address in Italy.

US police reopened the case in October and Mayorga's lawyers have been hunting for the Portugal international's address since then.

According to the Mirror, the former Manchester United star's home address in Turin has been found after searching through property records held by Italy's Central Authority.

The publication also confirmed that Mayorga's team have asked the official process servers to deliver the summons and complaint. The document is expected to be sent in the next couple of weeks once it has been translated.

A US judge last month allowed more time to track down the 34-year-old's address in order to start court proceedings.

Mayorga claims Ronaldo raped her in his luxury suite before paying her £295,000 in 'hush money' which she accepted because she 'felt intimidated'. But the Juventus forward has repeatedly denied claims he raped Mayorga at a Las Vegas hotel ten years ago.

Washington becomes the first state to legalize the composting of human bodies as an alternative to burial or cremation

Washington becomes the first state to legalize the composting of human bodies as an alternative to burial or cremation

Governor Jay Inslee has signed a new legislation making Washington the first state to approve composting as an alternative to burying or cremating human remains.

In composting, a body is "covered in natural materials, like straw or wood chips, and over the course of about three to seven weeks...it breaks down into soil," says Katrina Spade, CEO of the human composting company Recompose.

The new law allows licensed facilities to offer “natural organic reduction,” which turns a body, mixed with substances such as wood chips and straw, into about two wheelbarrows’ worth of soil in a span of several weeks.

History behind logos of the most famous football clubs in Europe

JUVENTUS
The new emblem was supported by a promotion ‘life is a matter of black and white’ – a reference to the club’s iconic colours. The badge, last updated in 2004, is essentially about extending the club’s reach and presenting a club known as ‘The Old Lady’ with a sharp, modern and eye catching symbol – an apparently ‘innovative’ emblem to coincide with initiatives to capture fans’ attention in Turin, Italy and across the globe, while staying true to their I Bianconeri (black and white) tradition.

“The transformation also encompasses a brand-new visual identity,” the club said. “The result of a bold, uncompromising approach, the new visual identity turns the sport’s traditional style on its head and sets about blazing a new trail.”

Agnelli added: “I get excited every time I see a word beginning with J in the papers.”
He might like it, but it polarised opinion from fans on social media.
The previous emblem featured the silhouette of a charging bull – the symbol of Turin, where Juve is based. Torino also have a bull on their logo.

Juve famously wear black and white after English club Notts County sent the Italians a replica of their strips in 1903 to replace Juve’s pink kit at the time. The club’s colours also leant to the nickname ‘The Zebras’.
Interestingly, the tradition of stars to commemorate triumphs on jerseys came from Juve, who added one in 1958, when they won their 10th Serie A title.

AC Milan, another Italian icon, has a classic, simple emblem based on a shield based on the flag of Milan (which is derived from the flag of Saint Ambrose – the Bishop of Milan from 374 to 397, the city patron and also the saint to that Basilica of Sant’ Ambrogio was dedicated to).
The St George’s Cross is not a link to England (although the club was founded by an Englishman) but it a hallmark of the City of Milan. Indeed, in 2014, the club’s main kit’s emblem was simply a crest with St George’s Cross.
They’re known as the Rossoneri because of the red and black colours - a symbol for fire and fear for the opponent.
