Legendary Reggae star, Majekodunmi Fasheke, popularly known as Majek Fashek died in New York on June 1 (read here).

It has now been revealed that he died after battling with cancer for almost a year, according to Vanguard.

The news of his death was announced by artiste manager Joy Tongo. Majek Fashek's manager, Uzoma Day Omenka confirmed the news on the singer’s Instagram page on Tuesday morning. According to him, he died at 11.45 pm June 1, 2020, Nigerian time.

He also confirmed the singer died in New York, not in London where he was previously receiving treatment. Uzoma said the doctors advised he should be moved close to his family, which influenced his being moved to New York where his wife and three sons live.

Meghan Markle reacted to the death of George Floyd as she gave a speech to the graduating students from her former high school.

The Duchess began the conversation by addressing the class of 2020 from Immaculate Heart as they graduate. She then proceeded to condemn the brutal murder of George Floyd and the murder of other Black people by the police.

“What is happening in our country and in our state and in our hometown of LA. I wasn’t sure what I could say to you. I wanted to say the right thing. I realized the only wrong thing to say is to say nothing because George Floyd’s life mattered and Breonna Taylor’s life mattered and Philando Castile’s life mattered and Tamir Rice’s life mattered - and so did so many other people whose names we know and whose names we do not know.”?

Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki has been dragged before a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja over an alleged forged certificate and perjury.

In the originating summons sighted by Daily Independent, the plaintiffs are Edobor Williams, Ugbesia Abudu Godwin and Amedu Dauda Anakhu while the defendants are the All Progressives Congress (APC), Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the Inspector- General of Police (IGP) and Governor Godwin Obaseki.

JusticeforUwa: One suspect has been arrested – Edo State Police

One of the suspects linked to the rape and murder of Miss Vera Uwaila Omozuwa has been arrested by police officers attached to the Edo state police command.
Recall, earlier we reported that the 22-year-old 100-level student of the University of Benin, Edo State was raped and killed while reading in a church in Benin city.

Regina Daniels whose pregnancy news was first announced today by her husband, Ned Nwoko, 59, has released more photos and videos of her baby bump.

The couple got married in May last year and are now expecting their first child together.

Politician Ned Nwoko made the pregnancy announcement on Instagram (read here) after which Regina took to her own account to release more photos and videos while explaining what it feels like being pregnant. She said it's the best feeling ever and she finds herself talking to her bump.

Friends and fellow actors have sent in congratulatory messages following her announcement.

FG reduces petrol pump price to N121.50 per litre

FG reduces petrol pump price to N121.50 per litre

The Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA ) has announced the reduction of the pump price of the Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to N121.50 from N123 per litre.

The PPPRA in its memo titled “A.4/9/017/C.2/IV/701 31“, also disclosed that the ex-depot price band is now N100. 13 and N108. 13 per litre while ex-depot for collection is N108. 78 and N111.78 per litre for the month of June. 

Marketers were directed to comply and operate within the indicative prices. The memo read;
