A woman allegedly set her dog on her former staff In Edo State over money. 

 

According to human rights activist, Kola Edokpayi, the woman identified as Joy Ose Uwadiae, the Proprietress of Ben Victoria Academy unleashed her dog to attack her former Bursar, Miss Faith Amedu for collecting practical fees from the JSS 3 students without her consent. 

 

"Amedi Faith is not presently healthy as a result of the pain inflicted on her by the Proprietress agents and the dog. Justice must be seen to be manifestly done" he added.

Identical twin brothers, Rev.Frs Emmanuel Ukachukwu Nwokeji and James Okechukwu Nwokeji, have been ordained Catholic Priests in Imo State.

 

The priestly ordination was held at the Holy Trinity Cathedral, Orlu on Saturday, August 18th, making them the second set of Twins in the Local government to be ordained as catholic priests.

 

 

Last month, identical twins, Rev. Fr. Francis Arinzechukwu Offiah and Rev. Fr. Cornelius Nzubechukwu Offiah were ordained Catholic Priests in Aguluezigbo, Anambra State.

Internally-displaced woman delivered of quadruplets in Zamfara

A 33-year-old woman, Zainab Salisu, an internally displaced person in Maradun camp, Zamfara, delivered  a set of quadruplets, two boys and two girls yesterday, Sunday August 19th.

The excited father of the quadruplets, Salisu Muhammad, said they were suprised that this particular pregnancy was very big when compared to the seven other pregnancies Zainab has had previously in which she welcomed a set of twins. Salisu said his  wife went into a brief labour in the early hours of Sunday and she was assisted by traditional birth attendants at the IDP.

When she gave birth, the IDP officials moved the mother and her quadruplet to Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital in Gusau, the state capital.

Zaynab and her husband were among more than 12,000 people displaced from nearly 20 communities in five local government areas of Maru, Maradun, Zurmi, Shinkafi and Anka following several attacks by armed bandits.

Suspected Fulani gunmen kill pregnant woman, rape others in Nasarawa

Suspected Fulani herdsmen have attacked Tiv farmers in the Awe Local Government Area of Nasarawa state, killing a pregnant woman and raping and injuring scores of others. According to Punch, the suspected herdsmen were said to have laid siege to the community in the early hours of Monday, shooting sporadically into the air to scare residents. A woman, Mrs Dorcas Mbagbidi-Akaahan was hit by stray bullets leading to her death.

A resident of the community, Obasanjo Akaahan, who survived the attack, said the community would have recorded many casualties if the attack had occurred in the daytime.

“Last week Monday night, some Fulani herders suspected to be from Wurgan-Dogo stormed Tse Shiga aka Gidan Soja  in their numbers, shooting sporadically as we scampered for our dear lives. One person was killed and many others injured.”

A woman was also allegedly raped by the attackers in Kalachi, a Tiv community in the Giza area of Keana LGA.

According to residents, two women were going to the farm in the early hours of Tuesday when they ran into suspected Fulani herdsmen who allegedly assaulted them.

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer, Nasarawa State Command, ASP Samaila Usman, said two suspects had been arrested in connection with the crime, adding that the command had commenced investigation to apprehend other suspects still at large.

“So far, two suspects in connection with the crime have been arrested and investigation is still going on to ensure that the prime suspect is arrested.” Usman said
