Civilization and advancement in technology come with its own share of expenses. As a matter of fact, there are certain spending habits that are fast becoming normal routines in our lives. However, this article will focus on the top 7 things that consume Nigerians’ money most.

If you live in Nigeria, you will agree with me that there are certain things we spend money almost on daily basis. These little expenses consume a large percentage of our income.

Therefore, this article will alert you on some of these expenses so that you can adjust your spending accordingly. Below is a list of top 7 things that consume Nigerians’ money most.

Top 7 Things That Consume Nigerians’ Money Most

#1. Mobile Phones

One of the things that consume Nigerians’ money most is Mobile phone. This may sound funny, but take a critical look at it, an average Nigerian buys a mobile phone at least twice in a year.

In fact, some people are so addicted to Smart Phones that they always buy the latest iPhone, Samsung, Infinix or Tecno Smart Phones. These mobile phone addicts will always go extra mile to get a new phone once they spot it.

#2. Aso -Ebi For Marriage Ceremonies

Aso Ebi is also among the things that consume Nigerians’ money most. As a matter of fact, it is fast becoming a norm in Nigeria for friends, relations, colleagues even neighbours to buy Aso Ebi a marriage ceremony.

Funny enough, once you fail to buy Aso Ebi, I tell you, the bride or groom will tag you their number one enemy. As I am writing this, I have over 10 Aso Ebi material that I am yet to sew. Oops, if there is a way to stop this, it could have been very awesome.

#3. Data For Browsing

Data is another area Nigerians spend money on heavily. 7 out of every 10 Nigerians definitely have a Smartphone that requires data for internet connection. Thus, they spend money on buying data. Especially those whose second home is social media.

It may interest you to know that some Nigerians spend as high as ₦5000 for data per month.

#4. Recharge Cards For Calls

You definitely don’t need a soothsayer to know that recharge card is one of the things that consume Nigerians’ money most. It is arguably one of the areas most Nigerians spend on the most.

No matter how broke you are, you must try to buy recharge card especially when you are in a serious relationship. An average Nigerian spends a minimum of ₦700 on recharge card Per week. Oops! This is about two thousand eight hundred naira a month.

#5. Fuel For Generator and Car

Fuel is another area that consumes Nigerians money. Most people in Nigeria either have a car or generator that requires fuel to operate.

As it is now, a litre of fuel is sold for about ₦145 in Nigeria. Do the maths, you will understand how Nigerians spend a huge amount of money on Fuel every day.

#6. Alcohol

Alcohol is also part of the things that consume Nigerians’ money most. Most guys in Nigeria consume at least two bottles of alcohol a day. Some people may even prefer buying you alcohol to giving you money.

Osita Iheme sat down with Daily advent recently and revealed the real reason why he discontinued in the Mnet comedy series ‘The Johnsons’ which features his on-screen twin Chinedu Ikedieze aka Aki.

The movie was premiered in 2013 and initially had both Aki and Paw Paw in the production but the later pulled out after a few scenes. While speaking with Daily Advent, he revealed what inspired his decision to part way with what is recently perceived as one of the biggest series in Africa at the moment.

You started off with your colleague Aki (Chinedu Ikedieze) in ‘the Johnsons’ but you dropped off at some point. What happened?

“I didn’t continue because their schedule didn’t go well with mine. They were always packing together so I couldn’t cope, said the actor.”

While the Osita is no more in The Johnson’s series he revealed that he is on another comedy soap opera titled ‘Professor Johnbull’ which features Kanayo O Kanayo, Mercy Johnson, among others.

Whats your message to your fans?

My message to them is to still believe. I love them all for keeping it real for all these years and believing, loving in me. I still want them to know that something fresh is coming. They should go to my Youtube page and watch my series, ‘Professor Johnbull’ and other movies that are coming out. The latest ones, The Billionaires, Paul and Banabas are also there. I promise them to keep the flag flying.A

President George Weah Plays Against Super Eagles In Liberia Match. Photos - Sports

Knificent.blogspot.com .
Nigeria on Tuesday night, September 11, beat Liberia 2-1 in an international friendly match. The match which was played at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Stadium, Monrovia, was to retire the number 14 jersey of President George Weah...

The Liberia president who played for about 74 minutes was peered alongside his old team mate, James Debbah in the encounter.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) used the match to celebrate the only African player to ever win the World Footballer of the Year after he emerged as the number one citizen of Liberia earlier this year.

Expectedly every touch of the ball by Weah was greeted with loud cheers and applause from the fans who thoroughly enjoyed themselves watching some of the best past and present African players on parade.

Major highlight of the match was the retirement of Weah’s famous No 14 jersey which he wore throughout his career as the captain of the Lone Star of Liberia.

Henry Onyekuru who made a return to the Super Eagles scored the first goal in the 11th minute after a brilliant assist from John Ogu.

Simeon Nwankwo netted the second goal for the Super Eagles of Nigeria in the 33rd minute as he gained from a superb corner kick played by Etebo.

Liberia scored their only goal in the 89th minute via a penalty through Palsama, but they could not score the needed goal that would have saved them from a defeat as Nigeria won the match 2-1

Nasarawa Gas Explosion: Baby dies while being removed from a pregnant mother who suffered severe burns

Nasarawa Gas Explosion: Baby dies while being removed from a pregnant mother who suffered severe burns

The death toll from the gas explosion on Monday at a gas station in Lafia, Nasarawa State has risen to nine including a baby, that died while being removed from a pregnant mother, who also suffered severe burns.
Monaco gas station in Lafia was engulfed by fire when the tanker offloading the liquified gas suddenly went ablaze.
It was gathered that the host linking to the tanker was unable to come loose, and the CEO called the company to complain of the problem. The company quickly sent a staff to rectify the problem immediately. The staff rectified the problem by servicing the nozzle and the host to enable the offload. While trying to fix it back the nozzle refused to fixed properly. The man, over powered by the situation quickly ran for safety across the highway linking Jos and Markudi road trying to stop vehicles coming from both sides of the road.
"While the traffic was held, a Sharon car was on a high speed tho people try to stop him but the driver was adamant trying to beat the traffic, the screech of his car ignited the fire"
Governor Umaru Al-Makura, who confirmed the figures on Tuesday when he visited the scene of the incident to assess, condoled with the families of those who lost their lives, and assured that government would do its best to ensure that the survivors of the fire outbreak get the best of medical attention.
“Last night, I got a report that six people died as a result of the burns sustained from the incident, but this morning, I was told that three more people had been confirmed dead," he said.
“We were able to transfer 17 victims, who had over 60 per cent burns out of the 37 persons affected to the National Trauma Centre in Abuja, but three among them later died. Shortly before I arrived here, another child died while being removed from a pregnant mother, who also suffered severe burns. So, at the moment, we have recorded nine deaths as against the large figures being speculated in the media,” Al-Makura said.
He said the remaining 14 casualties currently at the National Trauma Centre were responding to treatment.
“I have directed that all the victims be given the best treatment available and for those in critical condition, requiring to be moved abroad, the Nasarawa State Government will take care of their bills just to ensure they live,” he assured.
The governor called on residents of the state to obtain proper approval before siting their structures anywhere in the state in order to avert a repeat of such ugly occurrence.
“I have called for a meeting with the committee on development control for us to review approvals for siting all businesses that pose danger to the people, especially gas stations. We have agreed that existing stations must comply with the safe distance specifications,” he said.
He also said that he had directed the state fire service to cordon-off the area for the next seven days to ensure that it is totally safe for habitation.
“We discovered that gas was still leaking from the tanks and we are making contact with the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) and other agencies with the necessary equipment to assist in evacuating gas from the area,” Al-Makura added.
