Zainab Ahmed Denies Saying FG Plans To Limit Number Of Children - Politics

Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed, has denied media reports claiming she said that the Federal government is working on a policy that would limit the number of children that a mother could have in Nigeria.

Media reports claimed that Ahmed disclosed this while responding to questions during a session at the 24th Nigerian Economic Summit in Abuja on Monday October 22nd. The reports claimed Ahmed noted that the country’s population had been identified as one of the great challenges confronting the successful implementation of the ERGP and so the Federal government was working on policy to tackle over population.

However, while speaking to state house correspondents after the Federal Executive Council meeting yesterday October 24th, Ahmed denied ever saying such.

“When did I say this? What I said was we have a demographic situation where pop growth > Econ growth; we must engage traditional & religious leaders to educate families to have the number of children they can care for.” she told newsmen.

Elizabeth Ochanya Ogbaje Rape & Death: Protesters Storm Abuja - Politics -

Nigerians have come out in their numbers to protest over the death of a 13-year-old Elizabeth Ochanya Ogbaje who was raped by her uncle and his son in Benue state.

Canadian rapper, Jon James falls to his death from a plane during his video shoot

Jon James, a Canadian rapper has died after falling from the wing of a flying plane during a music video shoot.

His management team said the 33 year old rapper died instantly in the “wing-walking” accident in Vernon, British Columbia. “He had trained intensely for this stunt but as Jon got further out onto the wing of the plane, it caused the small Cessna to go into a downward spiral that the pilot couldn’t correct,” said the statement, published alongside an online fundraiser to raise money for funeral costs and to release James’s new music.
