EFCC ARREST IMPERSONATOR OF FORMER PLATEAU STATE GOVERNOR

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has arrested a fraudster who impersonated a former Plateau State Governor, Fidelis Tapgun and duped a serving Senator of N5 million.

In a statement by the EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, Vincent Bulus Venman was apprehended at a First Bank of Nigeria PLC branch in Jos, Plateau State while attempting to withdraw the sum of N2 million.

The statement said, “Vincent Bulus Venman a.k.a Fidelis Tapgun was apprehended…while attempting to withdraw the sum of Two Million Naira (N2, 000,000) sent to him as bait by the serving Senator whom he had earlier defrauded of N5m by claiming to be Ambassador Fidelis Tapgun.”

stan lee, the legendary writer, editor and publisher of Marvel Comics whose fantabulous but flawed creations made him a real-life superhero to comic book lovers everywhere, has died. He was 95.

lee, who began in the business in 1939 and created or co-created Black Panther, Spider-Man, the X-Men, the Mighty Thor, Iron Man, the Fantastic Four, the Incredible Hulk, Daredevil and Ant-Man, among countless other characters, died early Monday morning at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, a family representative told The Hollywood Reporter.

Kirk Schenck, an attorney for lee's daughter, J.C. lee, also confirmed his death.

lee's final few years were tumultuous. After Joan, his wife of 69 years, died in July 2017, he sued executives at POW! Entertainment — a company he founded in 2001 to develop film, TV and video game properties — for $1 billion alleging fraud, then abruptly dropped the suit weeks later. He also sued his ex-business manager and filed for a restraining order against a man who had been handling his affairs. (lee's estate is estimated to be worth as much as $70 million.) And in June 2018, it was revealed that the Los Angeles Police Department had been investigating reports of elder abuse against him.

6 EMPLOYEES OF THE PLATEAU STATE CIVIL SERVICE ARRAIGNED OVER N17M SCAM IN JOS.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arraigned six employees of the Plateau State Civil Service over a seventeen million naira scam before a State High Court sitting in Jos.

According to a statement by the EFCC, Simon Dalam Alias Illiya Ezekiel, Luka Dapel, Mary Charles Wakkias, Mary Alkali, Esther Gonung and Nanchin Vivian Philibus were arraigned before Justice Yargata Nimpar of the State High Court, on a six count charge of criminal conspiracy, forgery and theft.

N450M SCANDAL: SARAH OCHEKPE TO APPEAR BEFORE THE FED HIGH COURT IN JOS LATER THIS MONTH

The corruption charges against the former Minister of Water Resources, Sarah Ochekpe will come up later this month Feb 13th  2018.

The former Minister was arraigned to court by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over a N450 million she allegedly received from Diezani Alison-Madueke, former Minister of Petroleum Resources.

She was previously arraigned in Gombe on water related charges.

ILLEGAL MINING: FG WITHDRAWS CHARGES AGAINST DAN CHINA

The Federal Government on Tuesday withdrew its charges against Alh. Adamu Abdullahi Usman, alias Dan China.

Adamu was arraigned with 25 others (among who were 16 expatriates) before Justice Musa Kurna of the Federal High Court sitting in Jos on charges bordering on illegal mining at Kompany Zurak in Wase LGA in February this year.
