The vexed issue of subsidy for petrol was a significant part of President Muhammadu Buhari’s presentation of 2019 financial estimates to the National Assembly Wednesday, with the president earmarking N305 billion, out of his proposed N8.83 trillion spending plan, for the essential commodity.

The president told the 469-member National Assembly at the House of Representatives Chambers that government would continue to subsidise fuel price in order to reduce its burden on the citizenry.

The president’s decision, is, however, likely to generate anxiety among the nation’s 36 governors, who had in recent times opposed subsidy deduction from the Federation Account, arguing that it had remained a shadowy drain on their monthly allocation.

2019: Fertiliser Producers Donate N570m For Buhari’s Campaign - Politics -

President MUHAMMADU BUHARI, we want you to know that the real, true, good, honest and hardworking Nigerians are with you in this journey of taking our country to the land flowing with milk and honey.
We are solidly behind you as you take us to the NEXT LEVEL
.

We love you so much Your Excellency.

The Fertiliser Producers and Suppliers Association of Nigeria (FEPSAN) has donated N570million for the re-election bid of President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2019 general elections.

This is the first public donation to President Buhari’s campaign. Buhari is yet to formally launch his second term campaign.

The President of FEPSAN, Mr Thomas Etuh, announced on Wednesday night during a Gala night organised by the Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria (RIFAN) at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

At the event attended by President Muhammadu Buhari and a national leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, among others, Etuh said the money was contributions for the re-election of President Buhari.

Commending the President for turning around the fortunes of farmers in the country, FEPSAN president said from four before 2015, the country now has 30 fertiliser blending plants working at full capacity.

Narrating how he mistook call from the President’s Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, for fraudster when he was first invited for a meeting at the Villa, he said President Buhari has turned around the fortunes of farmers in the country positively.

Who killed Air Vice Marshall Alex Badeh - Femi Fani Kayode asks

Who killed Air Vice Marshall Alex Badeh - Femi Fani Kayode asks
Read the press statement by Femi Fani Kayode below..

The sad and brutal assasination of the former Chief of Defence Staff and former Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshall Alex Badeh, a day after President Buhari's birthday, is a despicable and cowardly act.

Not only was he an officer and a gentleman but he was also a profoundly good man who was criminalised, humiliated and treated in a malicious and unacceptable manner by a vicious, malevolent and evil government that had targetted him for villification and destruction right from the start.

Despite the fact that he was subjected to a well-orchestrated and relentless degree of persecution from the Buhari administration, he remained a believer in Nigeria and a heroic, courageous and unrelenting critic of tyranny, injustice and ethnic and religious subjugation till the end.

He knew many of the Buhari government's excesses and secrets, he worked quietly against them from behind the scenes and, by his numerous actions and interventions, he saved the lives of many of his Middle Belt people.

Bukola Saraki Blasts APC After Buhari Was Booed At National Assembly - Politics -

Senate President, Bukola Saraki, on Wednesday, fired at the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), hours after President Muhammadu Buhari was booed as he presented the 2019 Budget.

In his statement posted on his official Facebook page, Saraki noted that Nigerians have witnessed stunted growth in their respective businesses, lost their jobs during the recent recession and lost innocent citizens to insurgency in parts of the North East.

He wrote: “The last three-and-a-half years have been eventful ones at the global level and in our domestic economy. From dips in oil prices to major shifts in the economic landscape, crude oil production shut-ins and security challenges, the economy and Nigerians have been directly impacted by these events.
