2019 Election: 'We will not accept any move by INEC to accommodate APC in Rivers State' - PDP

2019 Election:

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has issued a statement that vehemently rejects contemplations by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to accommodate the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the general elections in Rivers state.

PDP’s position is predicated on the suggestion by INEC, through its National Commissioner and Chairman of Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye, that certain circumstances could lead to the postponement of election, in Rivers State, to accommodate the APC, which currently do not have candidates in the elections, following the quashing of its congresses in the state by the Court.
Such suggestion by INEC is distasteful and only points to a collusion with the APC in its plot to stalemate electoral processes in some strategic states to pave the way to postpone elections in such states and use compromised security forces to effect massive rigging, as was the case in the 2018 Ekiti and Osun states governorship elections, a scheme, which will be firmly resisted by Nigerians in the 2019 general elections.

The Presidency has asked former President Olusegun Obasanjo to seek medical attention fast as it appears he is not medical fit. Senior Special Assistant to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, said this while reacting to the former President's statement which he released yesterday in which he alleged that the Abacha Era is back as President Buhari is presiding over Nigeria the same way the former dictator did .
Recall that Obasanjo in a 16-page letter titled, “Points for concern and action,”, made some damning allegations against President Buhari. Read here.
Read Garba Shehu's reply to the former president below
The sixteen-page letter the former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, wrote to President Muhammadu Buhari and released this afternoon is the last push by desperate politicians who can’t handle the President politically and have resorted to subterfuge.
Our first message to the former President is that he needs a good doctor for good treatment and to say to him, “Get well soon.”

Mohamed, who has expressed his stance against homosexuality on several occasions, was accused of promoting homosexuality and contempt of religion.
