Breaking: CCT adjourns trial of suspended CJN, Onnoghen indefinitely

The Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT, has adjourned indefinitely further hearing on the non assets declaration charge filed against suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghe by the Federal Government.
At the resumed hearing of the case today, the chairman of the Tribunal, Danladi Umar, said its decision to suspend Justice Onnoghen’s trial was based on the order of the Court of Appeal in Abuja.
“Inview of the Court of Appeal order for stay of proceedings and out of respect for the Court of Appeal, the tribunal hereby adjourn this matter sine-die (indefinitely) pending the determination of the Appeal before the Court of Appeal”, Mr. Umar ruled.
Only the CCT Chairman and the third member of the panel, Mrs. Julie Amabo, attended the sitting.

WOW!! Manchester United on RED ALERT as £35M transfer target issues ‘come and get me’ plea to Premier League clubs

Eintracht Frankfurt forward Ante Rebic has put Manchester United, and a number of other clubs, on red alert, after the player stated he’d be willing to move to the Premier League.
According to the Sun, Man United are ‘on alert’ following the player’s words about moving to the Premier League, with the news outlet also noting that any club are most likely going to have to pay £35M to sign the player, as that was the price tag the player had on him last summer.
The Mirror’s report states that when speaking about the Premier League, Rebic said “I can’t deny many clubs, some from England, expressed an interest. The Premier League is attractive and it would suit my style. I’d like to experience it.”
The Sun’s report also notes that Rebic is a target for the Red Devils, therefore following these words, it seems like the player would be more than willing to move to Old Trafford in the near future.
Rebic would be a fine signing for United, as the player has proven during his time with Croatia at the World Cup this past summer, and with Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt, that he’s got what it takes to compete against the very best teams football has to offer.

Good news for Man Utd: Key update on Neymar injury touted ahead of Champions League tie

Man Utd have reportedly received a major boost as it’s been claimed that Neymar will miss their Champions League clash next month.
The 26-year-old sustained an injury in the French Cup meeting with Strasbourg last week, with Paris Saint-Germain releasing a statement conceding that he had re-injured the metatarsal in his foot.

Neymar missed a significant portion of last season due to the problem as he battled to be fully fit for the World Cup, but it appears as though he’s been hit with another setback.
As reported by The Sun, via RMC Sport, it’s suggested that PSG will be without their talisman for the first leg at Old Trafford on February 12, and there are even doubts over whether or not he’ll be ready to return in time for the return meeting in Paris on March 6.
That’s a huge blow for the Ligue 1 champions as it means he’ll also potentially miss several key domestic encounters, something that coach Thomas Tuchel will be desperately disappointed with if accurate.

‘I’m here to prepare for next season’ – Solskjaer discusses his Man United future and hails key player for his recent development MANCHEST

Speaking ahead of Manchester United’s next match against Burnley, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer gave an update on his position at the club.
The Norwegian has been a huge success as caretaker manager at Old Trafford so far, overseeing eight wins out of eight, guiding United into the fifth round of the FA Cup and reigniting their push for a top-four Premier League finish.
A 3-1 win against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Friday evening was the highlight of his reign to date, as his team knocked their arch-rivals out of the FA Cup with a superb counter-attacking performance which harked back to the glory days under Sir Alex Ferguson.
Solskjaer has faced constant questions over his future at the club as a result, with many supporters and experts calling for him to be appointed as the club’s next permanent boss.
During a press conference on Monday, he fielded the same queries once again and his latest response might suggest that his burning desire to remain in charge is growing with each passing week.
“What Manchester United are going look like next season with or without me, it doesn’t matter,” Solskjaer said, as per MEN via United XTRA on Twitter. “I’m here

Manchester United could offload out-of-favour star before transfer window closes

Manchester United captain Antonio Valencia could be sold this week, with Newcastle and Fulham interested in securing his services.
The Ecuadorian is out of contract at Old Trafford this summer, at which point he will be allowed to leave on a free transfer. He is also able to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with any potential suitors during the current market, or he could even depart ahead of schedule for a cut-price free.
According to The Sun, United officials may be prepared to sanction his exit before the window closes, with first-team opportunities unlikely to be forthcoming for the 33-year-old between now and May.
Valencia has only managed to feature in five Premier League games this term and just one of those has come under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s stewardship, with Ashley Young and Diogo Dalot now ahead of him in the pecking order at the club.

Icpc Should Investigate Lai Mohammed Over N2.5 Billion Nbc Fraud - Pdp - Politics

@POLITICSNGR

Below is a statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Kola Ologbodiyan, made available to PoliticsNGR calling on the ICPC to investigate Information Minister, Lai Mohammed for an alleged N2.5 Billion Fraud;

"The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) charges the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to go beyond the Director General of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), Is’haq Kawu Modibbo and institute a system-wide investigation into the N2.5 billion NBC scandal.

The PDP particularly demands an open investigation into the alleged roles possibly played by certain top officials of the Buhari Presidency, including the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, around the matter.

The party says ICPC’s uncovering of fraud in the N2.5billion NBC Digital Switch Over (DSO) contract has further exposed the inherent corruption in the Buhari Presidency and how Presidency officials and leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have been siphoning billions of naira from government agencies.
