Bollywood actress and Arsenal ambassador Esha Gupta forced to apologise over racist comment about Alex Iwobi (Screenshots)

Bollywood actress and Arsenal ambassador, Esha Gupta, has been forced to apologize after she was slammed online over a racist remark against Nigerian footballer Alex Iwobi. 

The 33-year-old who is a well-known Arsenal fan and ex-girlfriend of defender Hector Bellerin was reacting to Gunners' FA Cup defeat by Manchester United when the racist remark was made.

She posted a screenshot of a WhatsApp conversation between herself and another person on Instagram where Alex Iwobi was described as a 'gorilla.'

In the image, she shared, Esha who helped the club launch a kit in 2017, received messages from @Varun_Gupta17 which read: "Solves our winger issues. I can't see that gorilla faced Iwobi running down the flank again. He's so bad ya." 

Empire star Jussie Smollett lands in hospital after he's brutally attacked by two homophobic men

Jussie Smollet, who stars as Jamal Lyon in Empire, was brutally attacked by two homophobic men and he ended up in the hospital.

The men beat up Jussie Smollett, put his head in a noose and screamed, "This is MAGA country."

Sources directly connected to Jussie tell TMZ, the actor arrived in Chicago from New York late Monday, and at around 2 AM he was hungry and went to a Subway with plans to get food. However, he was attacked.

When they saw Jussie, the men - both white - yelled: "Aren't you that faggot 'Empire' nigga?" 

They then viciously attacked Jussie. He fought back, but they beat him badly and fractured a rib. They put a rope around his neck, poured bleach on him and as they left they yelled, "This is MAGA country." 

Removal of Walter Onnoghen is an Islamic agenda- Nigerian Christian Elders Forum says

The National Christian Elders Forum have described the suspension of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen and appointment of Justice Tanko Muhammad as acting CJN, as an Islamic agenda and have called on all Nigerians to resist the Islamists in the country.

In a statement  titled, “CJN Onnoghen: What is really at stake and the way out.” and released yesterday, the elders which include Lt.Gen. Theophilus  Danjuma,  Solomon Asemota (SAN),  Prof. Joseph Otubu, Gen. Joshua Dogonyaro (retd.), Dr  Kate Okpareke, Dr Ayo Abifarin, Gen. Zamani Lekwot (retd.), Elder Moses Ihonde, Elder Nat Okoro and Elder Matthew Owojaiye, alleged that Nigerians unwittingly elected an Islamist organization in 2015 and must do everything to ensure they do not return to power in 2019.

“In 2015, Nigerians unwittingly elected an Islamist government into office, supposedly on a platform of democracy. It is with this as background that the questionable suspension of the CJN, Justice Walter Onnoghen, should be situated. Chicago Police release two photos of potential persons of interest in the Jussie Smollett hate crime attack

Chicago police have released photos of two people wanted as potential ‘persons of interest’ connected to the alleged hate crime attack on actor, Jussie Smollett.

After combing through hours of surveillance footage from both public and private cameras around the scene, this is what authorities have managed to come up with;

Jussie was beaten, had a rope placed round his neck, and his attackers poured bleach on him as they yelled, "This is MAGA country." (read here). The attack landed him in a hospital in Chicago.

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state has said that the Buhari-led government is after his life and that if anything happens to him, the government should be held responsible. 

Speaking to newsmen at the Benue State Governor’s Lodge, Abuja on Monday January 28th, Governor Ortom said since his defection from APC to PDP in June 2018, the Federal government has been after his life.

“If I die today, the federal government should be held responsible,” he said.

Senate Asks Supreme Court To Reinstate Onnoghen, Says Buhari Can’t Remove CJN - Politics -

The Senate on Monday filed a suit before the Supreme Court praying for among others, an order reinstating Justice Walter Onnoghen as the Chief Justice of Nigeria.

The Senate action came after it cancelled its scheduled plenary earlier billed for Tuesday (today).

The Clerk of the Senate, Mr Nelson Ayewoh, who announced the cancellation in a statement signed by him, did not give reasons for the action.

He only explained that the federal lawmakers would resume on February 19.

But the Special Adviser (Media) to the Senate President, Mr. Yusuph Olaniyonu, in a statement explained that the cancellation was due to the last-minute decision by the Senate leadership to seek judicial interpretation to Onnoghen’s suspension by President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday.

In the suit marked SC.76/2019, the Senate asked the apex court to declare the suspension of Onnoghen without a support of two-thirds majority of the Senate as a violation of section 292(1)(a)(i) of the constitution.
