Shakira appears in Spanish court over alleged tax fraud

Colombian Singer, Shakira, appeared in a Spanish court on Thursday to answer tax fraud charges. The prosecutors accused her of failing to pay up to 14.5 million Euros ($16.29 million) in taxes on income earned between 2012 and 2014.

Shakira arrived at Esplugues de Llobregat Court near Barcelona in the morning through the court’s car park entrance, to avoid the media and was seen briefly through a window.

Prosecutors filed charges last December for the period they said Shakira was living in the region of Catalonia but the singer’s representatives said she did not live in Spain until 2015 and had met all her tax obligations.

Jay-Z is seen wearing a frown, similar to the one Bey wore when Nicole Curran, the wife of Warrior owner, was seen leaning over Bey to talk to Jay-Z last night.

In the photo taken courtside in 2014, Bey can be seen excitedly speaking with Jake while Jay-Z seemed disinterested.

Some have jokingly said last night's convo between Jay and Nicole as they sat courtside was payback for Bey and Jake's conversation in 2014.

Real Madrid agrees to pay £130m to sign Eden Hazard from Chelsea

Spanish club, Real Madrid has agreed to sign Eden Hazard from Chelsea in a club record deal worth £130million.

The 28-year-old Belgian will leave Stamford Bridge after seven hugely successful years at the club, winning the Premier League twice, one FA Cup and two Europa League titles.

This comes after negotiations between the clubs took place this week before a breakthrough was reached over the fee with the contract now ready to be signed.

According to Standard, Real Madrid will pay an initial fee of £88m but there are a number of add-ons included in the transfer which could see the Blues net another £42m.

Hazard, who is regarded as one of the best players in the world and has only 12 months left on his contract scored, 110 goals for the Blues and made 81 assists.

 

 

Update: Rapper, T.I.'s sister Precious Harris' died from Cocaine use

involvement in a serious car accident in February, according to the Fulton County medical examiner's report.

In the medical report obtained by TMZ, it was revealed that Harris died from "cocaine toxicity which aggravated hypertensive cardiovascular disease (high blood pressure)." It goes on to say that the high blood pressure caused an abnormal heart rhythm, which disrupted the blood flow to her organs including her brain.

According to the report, the rapper's sister was also suffering from several other ailments, like chronic lung disease, kidney disease, and diabetes.

Bandits kidnap three persons in fresh Katsina village attack

Barely a week after carrying out similar attacks on three local governments in the state leaving over 20 persons dead, armed bandits today stormed Dan-Ali village in Danmusa local government area of Katsina state, kidnapping three persons.

The bandits who invaded the village in their dozens, arrived in the early hours of today at about 1:25 am and kidnapped three young persons, two men and a woman. 

Bandits attacks and kidnappings have been on the rise in Katsina State. President Buhari who is from the state, recently vowed to tackle the insecurity in the state.

Pop star, Rihanna and her mom, Monica teamed up together for a rare photoshoot which they did together to promote new Fenty fashion line.

In the photos she posted to her Instagram page, Rihanna is pictured rocking a tan mini skirt with a matching baggy tan jacket with black lining in the shots. She added a white top and white trainers and sported visor-style shades.

Her mother also rocked a pretty floral-themed tiered dress, pale blue pointed toe shoes and a pair of square-shaped sunglasses.

Barcelona legend, Xavier Hernández has been appointed as the new manager of Qatari side Al Sadd.

The 39-year-old who made 86 appearances as a player for the Qatar Stars League club since 2015, announced his retirement from football earlier this month.

The legendary footballer has now penned a two-year deal to take over as manager, and the deal will see him become the boss of his former La Liga rival Gabi, who moved to the Middle East from Atletico Madrid last summer.

My fellow Lagosians.

With a heart full of gratitude, I address you today for the last time as your governor. It has been an honour and a privilege of a lifetime to serve you for the last four years.

It has been a remarkable journey which has had a lasting impact on my life and I want to thank all Lagosians for the experience of these last four years.

As in the beginning when we visited every single corner of this state, listening to you and asking for your votes, I have felt the power of your support, your collective energy and the endless goodwill that has propelled us to achieve many things.
