Once colleagues and kindred spirits at Barcelona, that seems a long time ago now as they prepare their Manchester United and Manchester City sides for a crucial fixture that could have a big bearing on the destination of the league title.

April 2010 – The winner takes it all
Having won 3-1 at the San Siro in the Champions League semi-final first leg Mourinho took his Inter Milan side to holders Barcelona knowing what they had to do to make it to the final. And although they lost 1-0 they put on a defensive masterclass, progressing with only 24% possession.
At full time Mourinho famously ran around the Nou Camp pitch with his hands aloft before saying: "My side are a team of heroes – the players left their blood on the pitch tonight."
