Cristiano Ronaldo, Virgil van Dijk and Lionel Messi shortlisted as the final three for FIFA

FIFA has confirmed the three final contenders for the 2019 Best Men's Player award. 

The Football's governing body had initially released a 15-man shortlist, but Cristiano Ronaldo (Juventus), Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool), and Lionel Messi ( FC Barcelona) are the final contenders for the award. 

Van Dijk is the favourite to win the award after he was named the Uefa Men's Player of the Year last week ahead of Messi and Ronaldo.


The three final nominees for 'The Best Goalkeeper award are Alisson Becker (Liverpool), Ederson (Manchester City) and Marc-Andre ter Stegen (FC Barcelona).

While, the finalists for the Coach of the Year award are Jurgen Klopp (Liverpool), Pep Guardiola (Manchester City) and Mauricio Pochettino (Tottenham Hotspur).

The winner will be announced on September 23 in a ceremony in Milan.
