Transliterations Of "Na Dem Dey Rush Us" - Forum Games - Nairaland

Today I was listening to a radio station in warri, and they had a call-in program for callers to transliterate the "na dem dey rush us" statement into its English construct, and I realised after the phone-ins ended, the presenter finally gave the answer to his own question and among all other funny and wrong answers from callers, he was also wrong.

I'm guessing its a Warri thing grin .. So in a bid to enjoy the funny responses and knowing the transliteration to the context which the "na dem dey rush us" was made, what are the appropriate statements that can be used to convey it in English?

(Quote) (Report3 Likes (Like) 1 Share (Share)The transliteration will be: "It is they rush us

While it's English translation is: "They are the ones interested in us" wink cheesy

I wonder how the transliteration will sound in vernacular.

PDP Calls For Arrest Of Miyetti Allah Leaders - Politics -

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has demanded the arrest and trial of the leaders of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association, over the association’s comment on plot to forcefully remove the President of the Senate, Senator Bukola Saraki.

PDP made the call in a Statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan on Wednesday in Abuja.

Ologbondiyan said such “unguarded statement” echoed the threats by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Presidency, to force out Saraki, from office, describing it as ominous and revealing.

He alleged that it had also been the same group that was being used to stoke division and create violent crisis that had resulted into daily blood lettings in various parts of the country.

He wondered how the association had now become the fourth arm of government that could determine when and how to forcefully remove the number three citizen, the President of the Senate.

He said it was in the light of these treasonable and inciting utterances by Miyetti Allah, PDP demanded that President Muhammadu Buhari, should within the next 24 hours, order the arrest and commence immediate trial of the leadership of the group.

“Finally, the PDP is aware that Miyetti Allah does not represent the views and interests of the vast majority of cattle breeders or even any ethnic group in the country.

“We therefore urge all good spirited Nigerians to rise in condemnation of the actions and utterances of these misguided elements, who are being used to attempt a constitutional breach that portends grave danger to national cohesion and our hard earned democracy.

Crude Oil Price Hits Two-week High At $74 As US Inventories Drop - Business -

Crude oil price Wednesday hit a two-week high above $74 per barrel as an industry report showing a sharp drop in United States crude inventories and the country’s sanctions on Iran pointed to tighter supplies.

While the global benchmark, Brent crude, rose $1.38 to $74.19, the highest since August 8, the United States crude gained $1.28 to $67.12 per barrel.

According to Reuters, the American Petroleum Institute reported US crude stocks fell last week by 5.2 million barrels, more than three times the decline analysts expected.

Oil also found support from a weak dollar, which has slipped this week in response to US President Donald Trump’s comment that he was “not thrilled” by the Federal Reserve’s interest rate increases.

A weaker dollar makes oil less expensive for buyers using other currencies.

The prospect of a drop in oil exports from Iran, the third-largest producer in the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), in response to new US sanctions was also supporting the market.

European oil companies have started to cut back on Iranian purchases, although Chinese buyers are shifting their cargoes to Iranian-owned vessels to keep supplies flowing.

Iran has warned that it would hit US and Israeli targets if it were attacked by the US after Trump’s security adviser said Washington would exert maximum pressure on Tehran going beyond economic sanctions.

OPEC has started to boost supplies following a deal with Russia and other allies in June, although producers have been cautious so far.

Saudi Arabia told OPEC it cut supply in July, rather than increasing output as expected.

Signs of tighter supply countered concern about slowing oil demand stemming partly from the trade dispute between the United States and China, the world’s two largest economies.

US and Chinese officials were set to resume talks Wednesday, but Trump said he expected there would be no real progress

Meanwhile, the US crude stocks fell last week, while refined petrol and distillate inventories rose, the Energy Information Administration (EIA) confirmed Wednesday.

Crude inventories fell by 5.8 million barrels in the last week, compared with analysts’ expectations for an decrease of 1.5 million barrels.

Crude stocks at the Cushing, Oklahoma, delivery hub rose by 772,000 barrels, EIA said.

Refinery crude runs fell by 89,000 barrels per day, EIA data showed. Refinery utilisation rates remained unchanged.

Gasoline stocks rose by 1.2 million barrels, compared with analysts’ expectations in a Reuters poll for a 488,000-barrel drop.

Distillate stockpiles, which include diesel and heating oil, rose by 1.8 million barrels, versus expectations for a 1.5 million barrels increase, the EIA data showed.

Net US crude imports fell last week by 1.1 million barrels per day.

How To Keep Rats Away From Eating Your Car Wires - Car Talk -

Rats they are omnivorous like all rodents, need to chew. Chew anything they can find to keep their incisors from growing through their jaws, but they find the wiring of cars particularly delicious chewing which translate into expensive repairs. If by chance you happen to have some food stashed away in your car, that’s a bonanza for the rats. A car provides for plenty of chewing stuff like Plastic, carpet, seat fabric, anything.
I have even seen a rat chew through the fuel line of a car. The worst part is when a live rat running around and chewing through stuff in your car die. A dead rat in the AC system of a car with smell that is stomach-churning and the car had to be aired out thoroughly even after a disinfectant wash for a couple of days. Such is the menace of rats. Another person had his entire instrument panel go dead because of rats chewing through a critical set of wires that resulted in an expensive wiring harness replacement. Here are some 7 tips to help prevent the rats’ nastiness and costly repairs.
Are They in Your Car?

1. Leave Your Car Bonnet Open: Rats love dark place to nest. This idea may help discourage them but may not be the ultimate solution, do this if you have a secure parking garage in your house.

2. Check under The Bonnet: Rats love the engine bay especially the air filter, cold air intake, air vents and the bonnet. This is also where most of the delicious wiring that they we be chewing up is located, ensure that the air filters and hoses are free of things rats may have stored. It would even be better to have your car professionally steam wash cleaned to ensure all rats’ evidence is removed.

3. Thoroughly Clean Your Car: Remove used food plates, left over junks wrap from the car.

4. Use Rat Trap: Place rat trap on the front, back and top of the tire tread of your front two tires, bait them with oily food and replace the bait once a week only set these trap anytime the car is parked using the old fashioned spring snap rats trap. Don’t use rat poison it attract more rats also to avoid its rotting smell.

5. Clean your Parking Area: Always clean your parking area, keep the area free of garbage that rats are likely to pickup and store in your car.

6. Don’t Let Car Sit Unused: Drive it once in a while to discourage rats from doing mechanical or electrical work.

7. Finally get a cat, but only if you can deal with a cat keeping a cat as a pet.

Girl Who Shot Herself In The Face In Suicide Attempt Get Face Transplant(Pics) - Health -

When Katie Stubblefield's boyfriend broke up with her, in a moment of madness and despair, the pretty teenager snatched her brother Robert's hunting rifle, locked herself in the bathroom and shot herself in the head.

When Robert kicked down the door, he discovered his sister with her face 'gone'.

The bullet, which was fired upwards as she rested the gun barrel under her chin, had destroyed almost everything in an upwards and inwards triangle, from her chin to between her eyebrows.

The 18-year-old's nose and sinuses, her mouth (apart from the corners of her lips), part of her forehead, and most of her jaw and facial bones were destroyed.

Her eyes were so badly damaged she was left with limited vision.

Astonishingly, Katie survived.

Perhaps even more astonishingly, doctors have been able to give her a new face and the opportunity of a life with some semblance of normality.

Three years and 22 operations later, Katie became, at the age of 21, the youngest person ever to receive a full face transplant.

Katie now has the face of a mother of a one-year-old who died of drug overdose.

There was a team of 15 specialists who came together to get a new face.

They put new skin, blood vessels, bone and nerves on her.

The 31-hour operation began on May 4, 2017, three days after Adrea had died.

It involved 11 surgeons and several other specialists who had been practising for months on cadavers, one team removing the face of the donor and the other attaching it to the recipient.

Adrea's body on a ventilator to keep her organs and tissues supplied with oxygen and blood was in an adjoining operating room.

(Her liver, kidneys, lungs and heart were also being donated.)

Dr Gastman made the first incision on the donor's face and, over the course of 16 hours, three to four surgeons bent close over Adrea for their painstaking work.

After removing her eyes so the corneas could be donated to another recipient, the surgeons delicately dissected the main nerves controlling the muscles governing facial expression, and the sensory fibres that provide taste to the tongue and to glands allowing salivation and tears.

Next, they cut into bone the upper and lower jaw, most of the cheekbones and bones near the eye sockets.

All of these would be transferred to Katie.

The blood vessels were removed last, to reduce the time the face was without a blood supply, and 'tagged' so they could be matched to what remained of Katie's vessels.

Shortly after midnight on the second day of the operation, Adrea's face was finally removed and placed on a surgical tray, floating in preserving solution.

Its eye sockets empty, mouth open and the skin turning pale as it was deprived of blood, it resembled a rubber Halloween mask.

The face was immediately transferred to the adjacent theatre where surgeons placed it on Katie and immediately started to connect up arteries and veins.

As soon as they unclamped Katie's veins and arteries, the blood rushed in and the face 'blushed'.

Katie walks down the hospital hallway days after the surgery as she endures a long recovery.
