Top3 Nigerians Who Could Unseat Buhari By Postingday.com - Politics

Knificent.blogspot.com .
6 months! That’s the time left before nigerians take to the polls to elect new leaders.

The declarations and consultations have begun in earnest with some notable Nigerians already throwing their hats into the mix including popular and hilarious comedian Basket Mouth.

The battle to occupy Aso Rock come 2019 will be fierce and tough given the fact that there are over 70+ currently registered political parties today.

In this post, we will review the three potential presidential candidates that we feel has the greastest chances of dislodging the incumbent – President Mohammed Buhari

1. Bukola Saraki

Ever since he connivingly snatched the post of the President of the 8th Senate ahead of party favourite Senator Ahmed Ibrahim Lawal on the 9th of june 2015, the tension has been hot and thick between him, his party and the executive.

Sen. Saraki frequently made claims of the executive trying to "punish" him for defying their wishes to emerge Senate President as frequent charges of misconduct and corruption were levelled against him.

Things finally blew over when on the 31st of July, 2018 sen. Saraki announced his much anticipated defection from the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) to the main opposition party The People's Democratic Party (PDP) ending weeks of speculation.

The numerous "illegal impeachment attempts" and threats leveled against him, including an August invasion of the National Assembly complex by masked DSS men has endeared him to the hearts of Nigerians and helped him find some pity and sympathy among them.

Senator Bukola could be the man to unseat President Buhari as he weilds an enviable amount of infuence in the north as a two-time governor of Kwara state and given his rising fame and reputation among the populance.

2. Atiku Abubakar

A former Vice President of the nation under then president, General Olusegun Obasanjo -1999 - 2007.

Atiku first fell out with the PDP in 2007 when pres. Obasanjo would not support his bid to replace him as president instead preferring to find ways to contest for a third time.

Atiku would later run under the Action Democratic Congress (ADC) but fell short as now late PDP's candidate Gen. Musa Yaradua would emerge president.

Atiku would subsequently return to the PDP but would agin leave to join the APC in 2015, the party again failed to give him the presidential ticket, throwing it's weight behind then incumbent pres. Goodluck Jonathan who would later lose to the APC's candidate and current president, Gen. Buhari.

Atiku remained in the APC for 2 years but on the 24th of November, 2017, Atiku would via a Facebook live video announce his defection to the PDP a party he called. "Home".

Atiku gave poor governance and policy making and implementation as reasons for leaving the APC and has since remained vocal against the policies of the APC led Federal Government.

Atiku could be the right candidate to fly his party's flag come 2019 given his massive political experience and reputation as a successful business man and job creator now that unemployment is the order of the day.

3. Ayodele Peter Fayose

A two-time and current sitting governor of Ekiti State. Fayose first emerged governor of Ekiti State in 2003 but couldn't see out his 4-year tenure after he was impeached by the state assembly. Fayose returned to win back the governorship seat in 2014.

Fayose has been the most vocal of all opposition membes against the policies of the Buhari-led administration.

"A roged politician" as he loves to be called. Fayose has expressed his interest to contest in the 2019 presidential elections but may have his dreams hampered by the fact that his party would prefer a northern candidate. Fayose's popularity and fan base in the southwest could be enough to convince his party to give him the presidential ticket or at least a vice presidential ticket to a northern candidate.

Air Pollution: Nigeria Ranks 4th Deadliest In The World - Health

Knificent.blogspot.com

.Nigeria has the highest maternal mortality in the world. It’s the country with highest number of extremely poor people in the world and now, it has the highest burden of fatalities from air pollution in Africa and 4th globally.

According to the just released annual State of the Global Air Report published by the Health Effects Institute (HEI), air quality in Nigeria and at least 10 other countries is among the deadliest anywhere on earth with higher than ambient air pollution death rates as a result of the environmental hazards combined with extreme pollution sources like generator fumes, vehicle emissions and crop burning among others.

The HEI chart notes that there were 150 deaths per age-standardized deaths per 100,000 people attributable to air pollution in Nigeria in 2016 (the latest year of available data), compared to high industrialised countries like China, 117 deaths per 100,000 people; Russia, 62 deaths per 100,000 people; Germany, 22 deaths per 100,000 people; United Kingdom, 21 deaths per 100,000 people; the United States, 21 deaths per 100,000 people; Japan 13 deaths per 100,000 people and Canada, 12 deaths per 100,000 people.

Only Afghanistan with 406; Pakistan, 207, and India, 195 deaths per 100,000 people per country, exceed the Nigerian figure (150 deaths per 100,000).

The report notes that 95 percent of the world’s population is breathing unhealthy air. It said long-term exposure to air pollution contributed to just over 6 million deaths in 2016 with strokes, lung disease, lung cancer and heart attacks linked to many of them. After smoking, high blood pressure and poor diet, air pollution is the fourth-highest cause of death worldwide with most deaths occurring in developing countries.

Air pollution is hardly listed among causes of death on death certificates in Nigeria, yet the health conditions linked to air pollution exposure, such as lung cancer and emphysema, are often fatal.

According to a 2016 World Health Organisation report, Onitsha, Kaduna, Aba and Umuahia were among four of the 20 African cities with the worst air quality in the world.

The WHO measured air quality by examining the annual mean concentration of particulate matter in nearly 3,000 cities across the world with populations of at least 100,000. Onitsha’s average annual PM10 was 594 – nearly 30 times greater than the WHO-recommended annual level of 20. Kaduna, Aba, and Umuahia cities were ranked among the top 20 worst cities measured by PM10, ranking 8th, 9th, and 19th, respectively.

Air pollution is now the fourth-highest cause of death worldwide, trailing smoking, high blood pressure and diet, with the majority of deaths recorded in poorer nations with India and China leading the world in the total number of deaths attributable to air pollution in 2016 with 1.61 million and 1.58 million respectively. Data from the report show that ambient levels of unsafe air continue to exceed the Air Quality Guideline established by the World Health Organisation, WHO.

Boy Commits Suicide Because Of Banana In Anambra - Crime -

Knificent.blogspot.com .
A boy identified as Prince Chigozie, 19, has reportedly committed suicide in Anambra State, because he was denied access to banana by one of his family members.

The incident took place in Mmakwum village, Obosi in the Idemili North Local Government Area of the state.

According to Punch Metro, Chigozie hanged himself in his room.

A source in the community who begged not to be named for fear of victimisation told our correspondent that Chigozie was found hanging in his room by his father.

He said, “Though no suicide note was found around him about his death; we suspect he killed himself because he was denied of some bananas by one of his relations, whom, I wouldn’t want to mention here

“I saw him fuming in the morning hours. When I approached him, he said a relation of his had been denying him many things because of his unemployed state.

“I told him to take it easy, but he kept fuming and threatening. Shortly after that, I heard that he had committed suicide.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, Mohammed Haruna confirmed the story to our correspondent.

He said, “One Uche Gbughemobi of Mmakwum village Obosi reported at Obosi Police Division how he found his son dead in his room. The scene was visited and the victim was taken to Crown Hospital Obosi where he was confirmed dead by a medical doctor.”

LG Unveils The World’s First 8k Oled TV (photos) - TV/Movies

Knificent.blogspot.com .

While the world is still trying to get adjusted to the 4K TV technology LG has unveiled the world’s first ever 8K OLED TV at the recent IFA 2018 tech show in Berlin where all major tech companies came from all over the world to showcase their latest and best technology. This massive 88 inch television is four times the pixel count of 4K and sixteen times that of standard HDTV. That’s over 33 million pixels at a 7,680 × 4,320 resolution.

The South Korean electronics giant LG need no other competition. It has solidly cemented it’s position as the number one innovator in display technology in the world. Of course LG is not the only company to unveil an 8K TV at IFA 2018,Samsung also unveiled it’s own 8K TV but it’s not OLED technology, Samsung calls it QLED ( Quantum LED ) which in my opinion cannot be matched to the OLED. The 8K OLED TV is no doubt going to be the future of TV technology

But there’s a problem !

The world is still trying to adjust to the 4K TV technology with limited contents, now manufacturers are trying to force 8K TV down our throats. I think the 8K TV will not receive a warm welcome just yet, not when we only have 4K content available through streaming services like Netflix, Amazon, YouTube, Vudu, SONY PS4 Pro and via 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray discs. Where’s the 8K content going to come from? Without 8K content, the 8K TV is just useless and there’s no way to enjoy it. It’s good to know the technology is out there but I don’t think we’re ready for it yet. Hopefully by 2020 we will begin to have 8K contents available in order to match the 8K TV.

Wenger To Replace Mourinho At Manchester United - Sports

Knificent.blogspot.com .
Veteran English sports presenter, Richard Keys, has said that Arsene Wenger would take over from Jose Mourinho who is currently under pressure at Manchester United.

Keys who has worked with BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Sky, Talksport, Al-Jazeera, Fox Sports, ESPN Star Sports, said that Wenger would be a suitable replacement for the Portuguese.

Mourinho 's job at Old Trafford seems shaky despite yesterday’s win over Burnley.

And Keys suggested the Wenger, who left Arsenal after 22 years at the end of last season, would be a good option.

“I’ll match and raise you Arsene Wenger,” he told beIN Sports.

“Let me put a bit of meat on the bone. Managed big players all of his life. Knows plenty about the English Premier League.

“He has won everything there is to win apart from the Champions League. He certainly can handle big players. Managed a big football club and he’s available.”

Kembo Mohadi: My Wife, Tambudzani Mohadi Torments Me And I'm Scared - Foreign Affairs -

Knificent.blogspot.com .
A Zimbabwean VP, Kembo Campbell Mohadi, has cried out for help over the torture he receives from his wife, Tambudzani Bhugadi Mohadi.

The VP accused his estranged wife of sending threatening messages to him after he instituted divorce proceedings in 2017, reports iHarare.

Mohadi approached a civil court in Harare seeking a protection order against her. He told the court, “I am a law-abiding citizen and given the increasing incidences of people who are killing their spouses for passion, I pray that this honourable court protects me against the threatened violence.”

“I have approached this honourable court seeking a protection order against the respondent in terms of the Domestic Violence Act, in that the respondent is a very abusive person and/or a person of a violent disposition such that I am now living in fear of my life.

The VP claims that his estranged wife started behaving violently towards him after she was served a copy of the divorce summons.

“The respondent has escalated her violent tendencies against my person [Mohadi] and even calling me on my mobile phone while insulting me and threatening to tarnish my image, which has the potential to damage my political endeavours in view of my political office and as a member of the government,” Mohadi said in his founding affidavit filed under case number DV1797/18 in a matter set to be heard on Friday.

His estranged wife is said to have started selling off their matrimonial property before the finalisation of the divorce matter in order to defeat the ends of justice.

Mohadi also claimed that his wife has gone to the extent of turning their four children against him.

6 Reasons Why Your Car Smells - Car Talk -

Knificent.blogspot.com .

Except you’re the extremely dirty type, nobody normal likes foul odour. Almost everybody (if not all) would love to keep the good smell in their car.

When you start perceiving foul odour from your car, it’s an indication that something is wrong somewhere. There are some things that can alter the good smell in your car and make it go bad to foul odour.

6 Reasons Why Your Car Smells

1. Burnt clutch or brake materials:
You will easily notice the smell when you’re driving with your windows down. A burnt clutch and brake pads that got too hot will give out the same ‘burning rubber’ smell.

2. Water getting inside the car:
When water or fluid gets into the car where it’s not meant to, be rest assured your car will smell. This is much pronounced after rain. Leaky doors, windows seals, can give water free passage into the car. When water makes it to the seats and carpets, it gives birth to smell.

3. Bad food and spilt drink
The smell can also be a result of spilt drinks or decomposed food for those that eat or drink inside their cars.

4. Oil leaks:
You’ll perceive a burning smell whenever oil drip and drop on any hot part of the exhaust system.

5. Bad catalytic converter:
When things are not right as it should with your catalytic converter, you’ll end up perceiving smell a rotten egg.

6. Fuel leaks:
When there is leaky fuel lines, stuck injector, bad fuel pressure regulator, they can lead to fuel being dumped on your engine region.

What else makes your car smell? Tell us in the comment section even if it's that person that entered your car with smelly shoes.
