A 64-year-old man has been arrested over the death of Cardiff City footballer Emiliano Sala. Police said he was from North Yorkshire and was detained on suspicion of manslaughter by an unlawful act.

Sala, a 28-year-old Argentine striker, was killed when a small plane taking him from France to the UK crashed in the English Channel north of Guernsey on 21 January. Around two weeks later, the aircraft wreckage was found with his body still inside and it was then removed from the plane and brought to Portland Port in Dorset.

The great big transfer rumour mill is now at full pelt. Some of the biggest names in European football are being linked with big-money moves, some back to their old clubs.
One of the biggest potential transfers of the summer could be Brazilian star Neymar leaving PSG. Reports from Brazilian news outlet Globoesporte Globo suggest that the 27-year-old is set for a return to Barcelona this summer.
However, the Catalan giants were widely expected to complete a long-awaited move for Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann this summer.

Griezmann the likely forward addition

This would be quite a quandary for the Spanish champions. It is an open secret that they are looking to bring in a new forward this summer and that forward. Most assumed that forward would be Griezmann after he revealed that he was moving on from Atletico Madrid.

Argentina 1-1 Paraguay: Messi Goal Not Enough As Albiceleste Still On Bottom - Sports -

Paraguay and Argentina delivered an intense match at Mineirao, but neither side was able to top the other. Goals from Richard Sanchez and Lionel Messi structured a 1-1 draw that doesn’t help either side on their quest to secure a spot in the knockout stages.

Cagey, ineffectual start to the match

Neither side looked comfortable over the Mineirao’s grass, as evidenced by the fact that neither squad created a clear scoring chance in the first 15 minutes. The beginning of the match was cagey, and it seemed neither side was finding spaces in the opposing final third. The biggest “moment” early on was the injury sustained by Derlis Gonzalez, although the attacking midfielder recovered following a cut on his forehead and remained on the game.

However, Argentina took control of the match starting the 18th minute and La Albiceleste moved the lines forward and began playing near Roberto Fernandez’s goal. However, they lacked sharpness in the final meters and the attacking trio of Lionel Messi, Giovani Lo Celso and Roberto Pereyra couldn’t muster anything even remotely dangerous.

Ousted Egyptian leader Mohamed Morsi who collapsed and died in court was 'killed', Turkey's President Recep Erdogan claimed today.

Yesterday thousands of mourners took part in prayers for Morsi in Turkey a day after the Egyptian president collapsed and died in court. Worshippers packed into squares and mosques in Ankara and Diyabakir to offer prayers in absentia for Morsi, a member of the Muslim Brotherhood who won Egypt's first democratic election in 2012 before being deposed.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was a close ally of Morsi during his short tenure as president, and one of the fiercest international critics of the coup that toppled him. In Egypt, a small ceremony was held Tuesday to bury Morsi in a cemetery in the east of the capital Cairo after his family said a request for a public burial in his hometown were denied by Abdel Fattah el-Sisi's government.

Real Madrid Unveils Rodrygo Goes - Sports -

After the signings of Eder Militao from FC Porto, Luka Jovic from Eintracht Frankfurt, Eden Hazard from Chelsea and Ferland Mendy from Olympique Lyonnais, Real Madrid unveiled yet another player as they set to take Europe by storm.

Los Blancos unveiled yet another Brazilian youth international, Rodrygo Goes on Tuesday following the arrival – and subsequent first-team nailing performances – of Vinicius Junior last summer.

Madrid paid Santos, the home of Pelé and Neymar among other Brazil greats, 45 million euros for the 18-year-old, who will hope to have a similar impact on the club as his compatriot when he is handed his chance by Zinedine Zidane.

Rodrygo joined Santos at 11-years-old, making his debut at 16, with Real Madrid almost immediately being alerted to his talent by his agent Arcuri.
