Evans Gave Me Tetanus Injections After His Gang Shot Me –businessman - Crime -

Knificent.blogspot.com .

Nigerian billionaire kidnapper, Evans who is still undergoing trial for the crimes he committed, has been accused by one of his victims, James Uduji of giving him tetanus injections for seven days to treat the gun wounds he sustained during his abduction.

According to the businessman, he was abducted on September 7, 2015 by four armed men on his way home from his factory at Agbara, Ogun State and Evans drove the Lexus 470 SUV. Evans who is standing for two separate charges, bordering on conspiracy to kidnap, kidnapping and attempted murder, stood for trial alongside Joseph Emeka, Ugochukwu Nwachukwu and Victor Aduba in the first charge. In the second charge, he is standing trial alongside Joseph Emeka, Linus Okpara and Victor Aduba.

The businessman disclosed that several gunshots were fired by the kidnappers who were driving a Lexus 470 SUV at the time of the incident, and it occurred close to his house on 7th Avenue, FESTAC Town, Lagos.

“I was inside my Hilux van with my two drivers when the men came and pulled me out of my vehicle and dragged me inside their own vehicle.

“I was not blindfolded at this point, so I saw the men clearly and the man at the steering with a gun was Evans. He is the only one I can recognise among the four" he said.

“I then realised I sustained bullet wounds,” he said.

Uduji also told the court that the kidnappers later called a doctor on the telephone who treated his bullet wound at their destination. Punch reported that he stated that he was given two tetanus injections for seven days, adding that Evans was the so called doctor who treated him.

He concluded his testimony by disclosing that he spent a total of 45 days in the kidnappers’ den before he was released, following the payment of $1.2m (about N400m) as ransom. Uduji told the court that the $1.2m ransom was paid by his family in three instalments, adding that he was released eight days after the ransom was paid.

One of Uduji’s drivers, Mr. Jerome Ugoeze, told the court that he was equally shot in the attack. According to him, after being shot, he pretended to be dead while his boss was whisked away by the kidnappers.

Pastor, 50 Others Die In Adamawa Attack - Crime -

Knificent.blogspot.com .

Over fifty persons including a pastor belonging to the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria were on Thursday night killed in attacks carried out by suspected Fulani herdsmen.

The attackers, who targeted the villages of Gon, Nzumosu, Bolki, Nyanga, Bukuto in the Numan Local Government Areas of the state, reportedly numbered over 200.

The attacks, which began in the evening, went on unimpeded as residents claimed the invaders allegedly planned and launched the attacks from Abbare, a neighbouring community in Taraba State.

The assailants were said to have burnt down three of the villages during the attack.

A resident of Bolki, James Nzonzo, said a boat conveying about 40 women and children fleeing the community capsized during the attack, adding that only five of the occupants survived.

The lawmaker representing Numan in the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Sodom Tayedi, while decrying incessant attacks by suspected herdsmen on the community, berated the fresh killings, describing it as offensive.

She expressed anger following the perceived reluctance of the military to contain insecurity, which had gone on in her constituency over the last three years.

The police in Adamawa State could not be reached for comments as calls put through to the acting Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Musa Habibu, were not answered.
