Rafael Nadal defeats Novak Djokovic to win 9th Rome Title

Rafael Nadal has defeated Novak Djokovic 6-0, 4-6, 6-1 to win a ninth Italian Open title and a record 34rd Masters crown on Sunday night.  

World number one Djokovic, who won at the Madrid Open last week, produced an incredible performance in his 54th meeting with second-ranked Nadal.

With the victory, Nadal now overtakes Djokovic at the top of the list for Masters wins. The pair were level at 33 each before Sunday’s final in a timely boost ahead of his assault on a 12th French Open crown in a week’s time.

Manchester City confirm Vincent Kompany is to leave the club after 11 years and 360 games

Premier League champions, Manchester City have confirmed Vincent Kompany is leaving after 11 years of service and 360 games at the club.

The announcement comes just a day after the centre-back and captain played in City's 6-0 win against Watford in Saturday's FA Cup final. 

The 33-year-old who played 360 games for the club will now move  to boyhood club Anderlecht where he will become player-manager.   

Kompany leaves a superb legacy and chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak said: 'There have been many important contributors to Manchester City's renaissance, but arguably none are more important than Vincent Kompany.

Prince William and Kate Middleton enjoy fun-filled day with their kids at the playground designed by the Duchess

The Duchess of Cambridge took her family to the woodland playground she helped design for a fun-filled day.

Kate Middleton will unveil her woodland wilderness garden at the Chelsea Flower Show in London this week (read here) but before being unveiled, she took her husband Prince William and their kids - Prince George, 5, Princess Charlotte, 4, and Prince Louis, 1 - to the "back to nature" garden to try it out.

Superstar footballer, Cristiano Ronaldo was presented with the award for best player in Serie A last night, before Juventus kick-started their celebrations after finally lifting the Serie A trophy and marking their eighth successive season as champions of Italian football.

The Portuguese superstar finished his debut season in Italian football with 21 Serie A goals and eight assists to receieve the award, which made him the first player to pick up the equivalent award in England, Spain, and Italy. 

The Italian giants were handed the Serie A trophy after playing their last home game which ended with a 1-1 draw against Atalanta.

Google severs Huawei access to Android software
The move means new Huawei smartphones won't be able to access many popular apps. The embattled Chinese company is under immense US pressure over its alleged government ties.

US tech giant Google said on Sunday it was pulling Huawei's license to use its mobile phone operating system Android, forcing the Chinese company to rely on an open source version of the software.

New Huawei smartphones will no longer have access to services such as Gmail, maps and YouTube as well as security updates.

However, people already owning Huawei phones will be able to use and update apps already downloaded.

Last week, US President Donald Trump signed an executive order to stop US companies from using telecommunications equipment made by "foreign adversaries" deemed to pose a national security risk. Trump blacklisted Huawei, denying it access to domestic markets and restricting US sales to the company.

English singer and former Spice Girls star, Mel B has revealed her ex-boyfriend Eddie Murphy is 'the love of her life and always will be'.

Mel who first met Eddie first at a party at his Beverly Hills mansion in 2006, expressed her regret over their bitter split, in her upcoming interview on Piers Morgan's Life Stories.

The pair ended their relationship in December 2006, which was marred with him questioning the paternity of their unplanned pregnancy after they welcomed their daughter Angel in April of the following year. Eddie was later proved to be Angel's father.

In her interview, obtained by The Mirror, Mel said: 'We had something special that I’ve never really truly felt with anybody else.

Oshoala Can Win UEFA Women’s Champions League On Saturday – Ebi


Barcelona Femeni of Spain attacker, Asisat Oshoala has been tipped to play a key role in helping her club make history by winning this year’s UEFA Women’s Champions League on Saturday.

It is the first time Barca have the opportunity of playing in the elite clubs’ match with Oshoala, who is on loan dfrom Dalian Quanjian of China, in the midst of the pack, but her national team captain, Onome Ebi says it is victory all the way.

Oshoala has scored seven goals in six Liga Iberdrola games for the club, with which Ebi is now wishing her the best of luck during Saturday’s final in Budapest, Hungary against Olympique Lyon of France.
