Disgraced RnB star, R.Kelly was arraigned before a Cook County judge on Tuesday September 17, in prison outfit.

A major highlight of the court session the handcuffed singer appeared in was the Judge's refusal to increase the $1 million bond on his pending sex abuse cases.

Though prosecutors at the Leighton Criminal Court Building did not reveal how much they wanted to increase Kelly’s bond, it was also learnt that the presiding Judge also shot down an unusual bid by a woman who posted Kelly’s bond in February but now wants her $100,000 back.

Juventus star player, Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed that he banned his mother from watching football matches after she fainted twice in a stadium.

The Portuguese made this known during an interview with Piers Morgan ahead of his UEFA Champions League opening game against Atletico Madrid.

Ronaldo said: “She gets so nervous, I don’t understand why.

“She is not allowed now to watch big games.

“I get friends to stay with her and she goes for walks around the house. She fainted two times in the stadium. She is nervous.

“It is impossible, I don’t have a father anymore and I don’t want to lose my mum, so I told her ‘you will not watch semi-finals or finals anymore’.”

Nigeria’s Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo has committed blunder on his verified Twitter handle, @ProfOsinbajo, Igbere TV reports.

This was as the Vice President took to the micro-blogging social media platform, to announce today's Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.

“Today, President Muhammadu Buhari presided over the Federal ECONOMIC Council...”, he wrote.

“We remain committed to improving the lot of the Nigerian people.”

Nigerians on Twitter have attacked the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) over its recent decision to increase charges on transactions.

Igbere TV had reported that the CBN, said customers making cash deposits or withdrawals will pay charges beginning from today in line with its new policy.

The objective of the “transaction fees” is to give vent to the Central Bank’s policy designed to reduce cash in use.

CBN Payments System Management Department Director Sam Okojere on Tuesday announced the take-off of the charges in a statement.

Yemi Osinbajo has been stripped of some of his powers over some Federal Government agencies under his supervision, indications emerged yesterday.

Sources in the Presidency confirmed to Daily Trust that the vice president, through a memo, had received a presidential directive on Monday asking him to seek presidential approvals for those agencies. The vice president chairs the governing boards of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Border Communities Development Agency (BCDA), the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), and the National Boundary Commission (NBC).

He also chairs the Board of Directors of Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC), a limited liability company owned by the three tiers of government as well as the Chairman of National Council on Privatisation (NCP). The new directive came in the wake of alleged irregularities in running the affairs of the agencies. There was no reason given by the Presidency on the latest directive.

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) just announced that the full implementation of the cashless policy will become effective from March 31, 2020.

In the circular titled: “Re: Implementation of the Cashless Policy,” that was addressed to all banks, it announced the commencement of charges on deposits in addition to already existing charges on withdrawals.  

According to the circular, the charges, which take effect from today, would attract three per cent processing fees for withdrawals and two per cent processing fees for lodgements of amounts above N500,000 for individual accounts.  
Reacting to the proposed development, Don Jazzy wrote, 'my dear the whole thing just reeks of a desperate move to generate revenue. When they load their own stolen money in the bank, they don’t care whatever charges they have to pay'.
