Barca, Chelsea & United want Monchi
Manchester United are looking to bring Roma director of football and transfer guru Monchi to Old Trafford, reports claim.
Monchi, 49, arrived at Roma from Sevilla last summer with a great reputation having discovered the likes of Sergio Ramos, Dani Alves and Ivan Rakitic.
But he’s already come under intense scrutiny having allowing Alisson, Radja Nainggolan and Kevin Strootman to leave.
He’s since signed nine players to replace the high-profile trio with the lesser-known, and lower-priced, Bryan Cristante, Justin Kluivert and Ante Coric arriving.
But could Monchi’s so-called ‘Roma revolution’ be coming to an abrupt end?
Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport claim Monchi is seriously considering his position after a tough summer and difficult relationship with supporters.
The report adds that Manchester United and Barcelona are interested in securing his services to take charge of their own transfer strategies.
Executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has been the focus of many supporters' ire and a fan-funded plane flew over Turf Moor describing him as 'a specialist in failure'.
Chelsea have also reportedly earmarked Monchi to replace Michael Emenalo , who left Stamford Bridge for Monaco in November 2017.
