The Super Falcons got their 2018 Africa Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) campaign back on track with a 4-0 thrashing of Zambia in their second group game on Wednesday, November 21.

Desire Oparanozie gave the Super Falcons the lead in the 42nd minute before second-half goals from Francisca OrdegaRasheedat Ajibade and Amarachi Okoronkwo sealed the big win.

After the loss to South Africa, the 4-0 thumping was a fierce response which has now gotten their AWCON campaign back on track.
The defending champions knew the task at hand and went at the Zambians. Zambian goalkeeper Natasha Nali did well to save a good strike from Asisat Oshoala and a header from the captain of the day Onome Ebi.

In the 42nd minute, the Super Falcons got their deserved lead through Oparanozie who finished off a pass from Ordega for Nigeria’s first goal.

The Falcons were guilty of missed chances, especially Oshoala who could not find the back of the net on several occasions.
She got into good position again in the 69th minute but her effort was blocked but the rebound fell to her teammate Ordega who curled the ball past the Zambian goalkeeper for Nigeria’s second goal.
FC Robo Queens star, Ajibade came on and quickly made an impact with a spectacular shot from the edge of the penalty area that beat the goalkeeper for Falcons’ third goal.
Okoronkwo rifled in the fourth in added time after coming on as a substitute.
The Super Falcons will go for the win again when they face the whipping girls of Group B Equatorial Guinea on Saturday, November 24.
