The Super Falcons got their 2018 Africa Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) campaign back on track with a 4-0 thrashing of Zambia in their second group game on Wednesday, November 21.
Desire Oparanozie gave the Super Falcons the lead in the 42nd minute before second-half goals from Francisca Ordega, Rasheedat Ajibade and Amarachi Okoronkwo sealed the big win.
After the loss to South Africa, the 4-0 thumping was a fierce response which has now gotten their AWCON campaign back on track.
The defending champions knew the task at hand and went at the Zambians. Zambian goalkeeper Natasha Nali did well to save a good strike from Asisat Oshoala and a header from the captain of the day Onome Ebi.
In the 42nd minute, the Super Falcons got their deserved lead through Oparanozie who finished off a pass from Ordega for Nigeria’s first goal.
