Pierre-Emerick
Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette were among the first to congratulate Kieran
Tierney after the defender made his debut for Arsenal. After a lengthy injury
lay-off, Tierney finally made his first start for Arsenal in their 5-0
thrashing of Nottingham Forest at the Emirates. Arsenal impressed in their
Carabao Cup clash and Tierney in particular caught the eye of supporters and
his manager. Tierney sent a message to Arsenal fans after the game on
Instagram, saying: ‘Thank you so much for all your support… very grateful.
Great feeling making my debut.’
Lacazette and Aubameyang, who were both rested for the game,
hailed their new team-mate in the comments section. ‘Yes my boy,’ Aubameyang
commented, while Lacazette replied with fire emojis and ‘Easy K’. With Tierney
approaching full fitness for the first time at Arsenal, the Gunners were also
able to welcome back long-term absentees Hector Bellerin and Rob Holding.

praised the defensive trio after the victory over Forest. He said: ‘Really for
different issues, the competition is important for us and one title, an
opportunity for different players to take confidence and minutes. ‘I think the
game was for us in 90 minutes very consistent. ‘Some different players gave us
their performance and came back after injuries – Rob Holding, Kieran Tierney
and Hector Bellerin. ‘This was a good result, a good match, a good game. We can
be positive for different options.’
