The Climate Action Day is a worldwide movement of people who are not indifferent to climate change and global injustice.
The United Nation World Community Organisation(UNWCO) as-well as National Parks and Rivers and Beaches Authority will be celebrating International Day of Climate Action on today 29 November 2019. The conservation focus is to promote awareness of the reality of climate change and encourage personal commitment to change.
WHAT'S HAPPENING NOW
- Surface temperatures are setting new heat records.
- Global sea levels are rising at an alarmingly fast rate.
- The ice sheets continue to decline, glaciers are in retreat globally.
- Our oceans are more acidic than ever.
- Steady increase in the occurrence of natural disasters.
OBJECTIVE OF INTERNATIONAL DAY OF CLIMATE ACTION
Change perspectives - Encourage individuals to think about what the world means to them and how they can show their appreciation by protecting and preserving the environment, through a willingness to change destructive habits.
Learn - Climate change is one of the greatest problems facing us today and it is imperative we learn not just the science, but also its impact on the world and the changes that is necessary to preserve "mother earth".
Take action - Encourage and engage individual in the community to do their part to preserve our planet by choosing reusable products, instead of disposables, or they can, recycle paper, plastic, newspaper, glass and aluminum or simply by planting trees.
Celebrate - Climate Change is cause by humans, and only humans have the power to make a difference!
Encourage individuals to take personal inventory of their personal habits, and their impact on the planet and then organize or participate in activities that celebrate our planet.
