We Give 'Area Mama' N5000 After Each Operation — Notorious Armed Robber Reveals - Crime -

Knificent.blogspot.com .

Policemen in Lagos state have successfully arrested a deadly armed robber terrorizing residents of the state.

A 31-year-old suspected armed robber, Mr. Olatunde Adetunji, has told operatives of the Inspector-General of Police Special Intelligence Response Team (IRT) that he and his gang members used to give money to a woman popularly known as ‘Area Mama’ for being their armourer.

It was learnt that the operatives have arrested the 54-year-old Bashirat Akinmushire aka Area Mama. The police alleged that Area Mama was the armourer of the gang.
The police have also accused the woman of being a member of the Eiye Confraternity group in the Isolo area of Lagos State.

Adetunji, who confessed to being the person responsible for taking the guns to the woman for safekeeping, further disclosed that he and his gang members also used to rob bank customers at gunpoint.
He said: “We operate within Ikeja and Isolo areas. After our operations, we would return our guns to Area Mama to keep them for us.”

It was also learnt that Adetunji, who is also a member of Eyie Confraternity, ran into trouble recently after he led some members of his gang to attack a middle-aged woman, working as a salesgirl, on her way to the bank. The incident occurred at Opebi, Ikeja, where the woman was dispossessed of money and cell phone.

Adetunji would have got away with the crime, but the woman saw him a few days later at Toyin Street, Ikeja and raised the alarm. The lady’s shout attracted IRT operatives who were around the area. The men raced to the scene and arrested Adetunji.

While fielding questions from police, Adetunji said: “Members of our gang normally carry out our different operations including robbery and cultism. We keep our guns with Area Mama. She lives at Isolo area of the state.”
A police source said that in an effort to recover Adetunji’s operational rifle and pistol, he led detectives to a market at Jakande Low Cost Housing Estate, located at Isolo, where Area Mama was arrested.

However, Area Mama said that the guns were no longer in her possession as she had given them to another senior member of the gang known as Junior aka Jungle.
When Area Mama was asked to take the operatives to Jungle’s house, so they could arrest him and recover the guns, she allegedly took them to a wrong location, where she also allegedly attempted to escape.

Adetunji disclosed: “ We usually pay Area Mama N5,000 whenever she gives us our guns. I’m a member of the Eyie confraternity and I joined while I was in the university in Ogun State. When I dropped out, I came back home to join members of my cult group in Jakanda Estate. I discovered that they had already procured an AK47 rifle and a revolver pistol. They told me that they bought the guns from a soldier and usually keep them at Area Mama’s shop.

Area Mama is also a member of our cult group. She used to hide the guns at the back of her shop where she sells pepper and tomatoes. She would cover the bag of the guns with baskets and sacks. We have used the guns on several operations. But the main jobs we do with the guns are to fight our opponents who are revival cult members.”

Area Mama, in her own defence, confessed that Adetunji and Jungle forced her to keep the guns for them because she was a member of their group and also took an oath with them to keep their secrets.

She added: “I took an oath when I joined the group, but I didn’t know that they will assign the duty of keeping their guns to me. I tried to protest against keeping the guns for them but they threatened to kill me if I didn’t keep the guns for them. Because of the oath we took together, I could not tell anyone that I was keeping guns for the group.

“They used to come for it whenever they have an operation but I don’t know what they do with the guns. After each operation, they would give me N5,000.
"But a few months ago, Jungle came and collected the guns; he is yet to return them to me. I have tried to take the police to Jungle’s house, but he was not there.”

Cult groups threaten to kill SSS Director, Police Commissioner, others in Cross River State?over the arrest and detention of their members

Suspected cult groups, the Vikings and Skylo have threatened to attack security chiefs in Cross River State over the arrest and detention of their members.

In a statement made available to newsmen on Tuesday, the groups listed the security chiefs to be attacked to include, the Director of State Security Service, Commissioner of Police in Cross River State, Commander of the 13 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Calabar.

Others listed were: the State Attorney General, some members in Governor Ayade’s administration, Hon Mike Obi, Oliver Orok, Secretary to the State Government, State Chief Judge, State Chief Registrar and Mr Frank Ayade.

The statement jointly signed by seven members of the two groups, Udom Ekpo, Asuquo Daniel, Etim Udoeyop, Ikang Damong, Francis Okon, Emmanuel Okon and Asuquo Francis, lamented the condition of their members in SSS custody.
“We have heard of all what is happening with members of Virkins and Skilo confraternities. They were arrested in Obudu and brought to Calabar by Police and State Security Service. We want to let you know that we are going to kill the Director of State Security Service in this State. We are going to assassinate the Commissioner of Police.
We are going to make Cross River State ungovernable for Prof Ben Ayade and his aides. We are giving the government 24 hours to release Mr Effiong Ekarika and Ebok Obong, Chairman of Vikings and Skylo with immediate effect. If not, we are going to cause mayhem and breakdown of law and order.
We are going to kill or kidnap Chief of Staff, Mr Orim. Just watch out and see what is going to happen. We have mobilised our boys and ammunition for this assignment,” the groups stated.

The groups further alleged that one of their leaders, who is a serving member in the President Muhammadu Buhari administration would come to their rescue in case of any untold hardship.

Reacting, the Clans Club International charged Gov. Ben Ayade and other security chiefs in the state not to succumb to threat by miscreants to terminate the lives of top government functionaries in the state.

In a communiqué to mark the 32nd anniversary of the group in Calabar, president of the club in the state, Dr. Fred Obeten, stated that it was wrong for any individual or group of persons to threaten a government, which is the soul repository of the coercive powers of the state.  “We call on government not to succumb to cheap blackmail but do all within its powers to bring the promoters of such terrorist activities to book speedily.

Barca, Chelsea & United want Monchi

Manchester United are looking to bring Roma director of football and transfer guru Monchi to Old Trafford, reports claim.
Monchi, 49, arrived at Roma from Sevilla last summer with a great reputation having discovered the likes of Sergio Ramos, Dani Alves and Ivan Rakitic.
But he’s already come under intense scrutiny having allowing Alisson, Radja Nainggolan and Kevin Strootman to leave.
He’s since signed nine players to replace the high-profile trio with the lesser-known, and lower-priced, Bryan Cristante, Justin Kluivert and Ante Coric arriving.
But could Monchi’s so-called ‘Roma revolution’ be coming to an abrupt end?
Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport claim Monchi is seriously considering his position after a tough summer and difficult relationship with supporters.
The report adds that Manchester United and Barcelona are interested in securing his services to take charge of their own transfer strategies.
Executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has been the focus of many supporters' ire and a fan-funded plane flew over Turf Moor describing him as 'a specialist in failure'.
Chelsea have also reportedly earmarked Monchi to replace Michael Emenalo , who left Stamford Bridge for Monaco in November 2017.

Chiefs agree to one request

Manchester United chiefs reportedly agreed to one Jose Mourinho transfer request this summer.
Ed Woodward has seen his relationship with Mourinho worsen in recent months, but the Manchester Evening News say the supremo did agree to one request.
United spent the summer trying to convince Marouane Fellaini to stay.
The Belgium international has divided fans ever his arrival from Everton in 2013, despite popping up with some significant goals.
Fellaini was wanted by Mourinho who is a huge admirer of the midfielder.
Woodward could be forgiven for wanting to cut him loose, particularly given the erratic nature of some of his performances.
But the United chief, who is in charge of transfer business at Old Trafford, was successful in convincing Fellaini to stay.
The MEN say Mourinho ‘got his way’ with the player’s future high on his list of priorities this summer.

Wanted: Lucas Hernandez

Jose Mourinho is monitoring Atletico Madrid star Lucas Hernandez, reports claim.
The Portuguese tactician was desperate to bolster his defence this summer with Harry Maguire, Toby Alderweireld and Yerry Mina on his transfer shortlist.
But the Red Devils failed to bring the trio to Old Trafford, and now attentions are turning to the January transfer window.
via France Football claim Mourinho is now interested in Lucas, who played virtually every minute of France’s World Cup campaign at left-back but is capable of playing in central defence.
Real Madrid are reported to have triggered the 22-year-old’s £72million release clause earlier in the year, but Lucas turned down their approach.
