End Of Danfo As LASG Is Set To Roll Out 300 New BRT Buses Oct. 1st - Travel -

Lagos State Government says it has taken delivery of 300 new buses into its Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) fleet to boost public transportation services in the state.

The Commissioner for Transportation, Ladi Lawanson, said in Lagos that the new buses were part of the 800 buses paid for by the state government. The 300 buses would be on Lagos roads from Oct. 1, the commissioner said.

“The most important thing is that the buses will start rolling out from October and we are not stopping at that and we won’t stop at 800.
“All 800 buses have been paid for but they are not bought off the shelf, they are produced in batches.

“The state government, being an enabler, made a financial commitment for those 800 to come in.

“But we have a firm agreement with the bus company that we are going to build up to 5000 buses in the next three to four years,” Lawanson said.

The commissioner said that the bus company had also expressed commitment to establish assembly plant in the country to provide jobs and for easy maintenance of the buses.

“That is part of what we knew we had to resolve from the old ways we have been acting.

“Part of the company’s agreement is to establish an assembly plant here to provide more jobs for Nigerians and solve the problems of maintenance and spare parts,’’ he said.

Is It Proper For A Married Woman To Have A Platonic Male Friend? - Romance -

This topic has been controversial from time immemorial.

Here is my take on the matter. Feel free to express your opinions.
Based on my life experiences, I got to know that most ‘just friends’ friendship between opposite sex end up as a smoke screen. Below are what I observed.

1. Most guys will pretend to be ‘just friends’ with girls that turned down their sexual advance. They do this to stay connected with the lady in case opportunity will resurface again. They are like lions laying in waiting, hiding, monitoring a stubborn antelope. Some of them are masters of this pretence that the lady will not suspect anything. This lady will trust them to the extent of even sleeping in their houses.
At the end, these girls fall victim of forceful sexual intercourse, sex under influence of chemical/alcohol or emotional trauma.

E.g, A lady I approached sometimes ago, turned me down. We agreed to be ‘just friends’. One day, she had a disagreement with his guy to the extent of physical assault. She cried to my house. As we were talking through the night, one thing led to another, we had sex.
This is one major reason when my girlfriend tells me a guy is her best friend, I frown at it. In fact I can end that relationship because of it.

2. My uncle’s wife had a man friend ‘just friend’, which nearly rattled his marriage. She is always on phone with this man. They even go out to have dinner together. Even I was pissed off personally but could not express my opinion in someone else’s marriage. She was always playing the jealousy card. My uncle is jealous blahblah. The matter later came to an end when her parents called her to order. They told her that when a woman is married, the only best friend she should have is her husband. Her best friends before getting married should maintain distance if they are responsible except they are nurturing bad intentions too.

3. Young girls these days have mastered the art of queuing up guys. When they are in serious relationship, they friend-zones their toasters and keep communicating with them. When they have little disagreement in their serious relationships, they upgrade the next guy in the friend-zone to bed mate. They don’t make effort to make their failing relationship work because they know they have a queue of guys on their whatsap.

What they don’t realize is that these guys also moved on to the next girl when she turned them down the first time. So when the girl resurface again, they accept her as a bonus “extra p*ssy”. When the relationship breaks down again, they go on social media and rant on how men are dogs, men are liars, men cannot be trusted, they prefer to stay single. Anyways, this is out of scope for this discussion.

4. I had a girlfriend in the past, she made me realize we are not dating because she had a serious relationship. But we played one day and mistakenly had sex. And after that we had sex multiple times. And she keeps ringing it in my ear that we are not dating. She even introduced me to her man as her best friend ‘just friends’

In conclusion, I am not saying being friends with opposite sex is bad, but distance should be maintain if no-dating clause is there. Maintain minimum visits and contacts. Some guys will says “I can’t be taking you out to eateries, spending on you without getting anything back”. So girls, watch your back, nothing is free in freeland.

Police Declare 9 Bankers Wanted For Stealing Customers’ Deposits Of N900m - Crime -

The Nigerian Police force has declared nine bankers wanted for stealing various amount of money from depositors of a new generation bank, the police acted on petitions it received from the bank and its customers on the disappearance of a large sum of money from their various accounts.


They include Oshiojum Chibuzor Wilson, Juwon Faromoh, Akanaga Christian, Linda Chekwube, Matthew Akpan, Oluwasoji Ajetumobi, Nelson Omuzagha, Ogunlaja Ganiyu and Adeyemi Omitogun.

Single Female Doctor: 'A Driver Refused To Work For Me' - Jobs/Vacancies -

A Nigerian female doctor, took to Twitter to recount how a driver whose services he tried hiring as a single woman, rejected the job offer because she has no 'Oga'.

According to the female doctor, the driver who initially accepted the job offer, returned back to her, telling her that he prayed with his wife over the job but they decided it wasn't a good one because she was single.

Remember, when I tried to hire a driver as a single woman. He accepted the job. Then he came back to me in the evening and he had prayed about it with his wife decided it would not be good for him to work for a 'big madam wey no get oga'


The Nigerian Female Doctor was however, reacting to an article by BBCNigeria on the stigma on single women in Nigeria. The article reads in part;

Many landlords in Nigeria suspect single women of being prostitutes, making it difficult for them to rent apartments.

A successful career woman, Olufunmilola Ogungbile, 30, never thought that she would be sleeping on a friend's couch after five months of apartment-hunting in Abeokuta city in south-western Nigeria.

She had moved from Lagos after securing a good job with the Ogun state government as a project administrator. Despite being financially independent, she struggled to find an apartment in middle and upmarket areas because she was single.

"The first question the landlord would ask me is if I'm married?" Ms Ogungbile said, "I'd say 'No', and they'd follow with, 'Why not'?"

She was often left puzzled.

"What does my marital status have to do with me getting a place to live in?"

Gay Man Arrested After Breaking Into A Man’s House To Rape Him In Bauchi - Crime

The Bauchi State Police Command have arrested 35-year-old Ismail Yusuf, a self-confessed gay man who broke into a house at Rariya Quarters, Bauchi, around 1a.m, to rape an occupant.


The gay man who voluntarily confessed to the crime, broke into the house on the 13th of August, 2018 to rape one Haruna Banki, however he was arrested after the police were alerted. The suspect who was paraded, yesterday, alongside another suspect arrested for being in possession of stolen properties, also confessed to being in the rape act for very long time.

Man Who Developed Leg Injury After Trekking For Buhari Discharged From Hospital - Politics -

Abubakar Duduwale, a supporter of President Buhari who developed leg injury (ulcer) three years after trekking to celebrate President’s win at the 2015 presidential polls has been discharged from hospital.He was discharged from the Federal Medical Centre Yola, Adamawa state after a successful treatment.He is currently using clutches.
